Fellow 360 Owners, Why Do You Dislike PS3 So Zealously?

I mean, its okay to look at PS3 and go 'Blu-Ray player, 1 good game, crappy online, Owned' but what I have found is that after you scratch the surface, it's a great console. Why don't you just see for yourself? It will open your eyes.

For this reason, I am hoping to get a PS3, something I would have guffawed at a mere month ago. Wow.

Im a 360 owner and I don't dislike the PS3.

I don't have one yet, but it looks like a good console. Sure, it may have many games in common with the 360, but that doesnt make those good multiplatform games any less good.

I'll likely get one eventually.

But anyways, I'm going to get a PS3 this holiday, so I'll defend the Xbox more until then.

Personally I will list my reasons... 1) The catalog of games the PS3 has ,has not diversified it enough to warrant a purchase from me. I am waiting for more top tier exclusives. 2) Xbox360 has proven itself to me to be the JRPG console of this gen, and I love mistwalkers recent games. 3) I am addicted to achievements 4) I don't have a HD-TV and I connect to the internet with an internet cable. I don't hate the PS3 I just don't see a reason why I should even think about purchasing one right now when all the games I am interested in are multiplat or exclusives to the 360.mastarifla

1. Because it has , and is going to have great online games ..... with no yearly online fees to participate. I don't like the sound of that. Now , one can even find their friends on PSN and games will start to get trophies which sucks because I could do that earlier.
2. Because the ps3 sales are improving and because the ps3 has been outselling the 360 worldwide for some time now and that will likely continue. I don't like that.
3. Because the system has no major defects , it is quiet , sleek , and has blu-ray and wifi included ..... I am not too happy about those things. I was hoping for something else.
4. Because the 360 released earlier (has more games) and is "cheaper" and I am confused as to why people would choose a ps3 over a 360. I just can't comprehend it , I just don't get it.

IMO the PS3 doesnt do enough to differentiate itself from the 360. One or two games that slightly interest me is not enough to go all out for a console. Im not interested in hardware hype or movie formats, Im interested in games and could care less of the medium they are distributed on. Its a fact that the majority of the PS3 and 360 software are multiplat, just so happens that the 360 caught my attention instead of waiting for the PS3 launch.

If the PS3 was a completely different beast to take on MS, I would probably get on board to enjoy a different gaming experience. But since they are almost the same in terms of games, graphics, etc etc, buying a console to get a extra poly here and there is not worth it.

It's the same both ways ps3 owners dislike the 360.

I own both. But the general "hatred" comes from enduring years of abuse from Sony fanboys trying to downgrade every system and games made for other sytems that were not PS1, pS2 or PS3. That, and the incredible lies and hype from Sony themselves over the last few years that just sour the whole playstation experience.

I guess I'm working off the old set of rules where if you were a fanboy and you really really liked something you were the first one to ridicule it when it did not live up to your insanely overblown and nerdy expectations.

I'm a huge Sony fanboy and hold them to a higher standard so by my rules you tear into them at every chance you get and ridicule them without mercy.

I don't know what the deal is with you 21st century fanboys that just accept incompetence and keep on begging for more.

Don't hate the PS3. Just don't have a reason to buy it. I just wrote a Wall of Text as to why but I deleted. Just stuff I should Blog instead.

It's not so much that I hate the PS3, I just don't think it's a wothy investment at the moment. Like someone else said, dropping the cash for an extra poly here and there isn't worth it. From a hardware perspective, I will agree the system is built better and will have more longevity than the 360. From a software perspective, it just doesn't do anything for me that the 360 doesn't do better. Any multiplat game with a strong online multiplayer I would rather play on a service like XBL. Actually, I'd rather play any multiplat on the 360 for the simple reason that I've always hated the PlayStation controller. As for exclusives, I think a lot of what the PS3 has to offer at the moment is for gamers who grew up with the PlayStation franchises and can't simply be jumped into this gen without playing previous entries into the series (ex. MGS4). That and the fact that there really AREN'T that many PS3 exclusives which have garnered a lot of attention since its release, obvoiusly with the exception of MGS4.

With a game system, the games come first. In my opinion, the PlayStation 3 just doesn't cut it there.

Exactly, no console is bad as fanboys make them out to be. I just think a lot of people form opinions based on what's been throwing around at the time. So if everyone in a thread is saying a certain game sucks but they've never played it, they'll post saying it sucks anyway. Or if someone is bashing a console they've never played they'll just base their opinion on the majority.

I don't dislike the ps3, i dislike the trolling fanboys who follow their every word. i als don't really care for kaz, he seems a little stuck up and he comes off as he doesn't play video games much at all.

The stupidest thing about system wars is how everybody is put into "groups"...even though we are all independent people from different parts of the world, with our own thoughts, beliefs, and opinions. It's like gaming version of racial stereotyping. I've owned a 360 since launch and I've been very happy with it. Does that mean that I have an automatic built-in hate for Sony? Absolutly not. But I can't visit system wars without seeing threads like this one.

Whenever a topic like this comes up I like to ask the PS3 owners one simple question: If the PS3 had the specs of the 360 and problems associated with it, and 360 had the specs of the PS3 (complete role reversal) would you still buy and hype the PS3?

Its a simple question that most "gamers" cant answer honestly because of the fanboyism that flows in their veins...

I hate it because my friends (who own PS3's) try to explain to me teh power of the cell and put the PS3 up on this pedistal simply because they payed more money for it. Teh blu-ray, teh Sony, teh Metal Gear. I get sick of it.
