There's confirmations of both hook ups of component and HDMI usage for 720p. I have a 720p widescreen use through HDMI.

As long as they are listed in the compatiblility lists, yes. The option to upsale or smooth is in the XMA. And you want to be sure to turn off progressive mode in the game. Otherwise it'll default back to 480i/480p.

As someone who's never owned a PS system before, playing those classics will now be a little easier on the eyes. 

so how does shadow of the colossus look ? does it look noticably better ? the game already looks great but does anyone have comparison for that game ?Mandingo101

I wish I could show you comparisons between it being scaled and not. It is noticable and oddly enough, whe you encounter the colossi, it seems the framerate stays a bit more steady than from what I remember. Not so choppy anymore. Really really nice to see. You should see the FFXII pics floating around. Wicked sick stuff yo.
