Phil Fish was only in the game industry for the fashion and lifestyle and so not a single fvck was given
I wasn't evenb aware that there was going to be a sequel in the first place.
So no I don't care. I like most indie games but Fez just looks boring to me.
Yes. I thought Fez was pretty cool. Sure, Phil Fish is an ass but doesn't stop his game from being interesting. Jonathan Blow is somewhat of a pretentious ass too but I still love Braid and looking forward to The Witness.
Sucks.
Fez is a fairly average indie game given more press than it deserves due to a crappy movie full of hipsters with a messiah complex.
not really, Fez wasn't a very good game and was released in a form that for some was unplayable in cetain areas...A game that took 5 years to develop shouldn't have been like that.
Â
He was an asshole, which is not entirely bad by itself, but to be a thin skinned asshole though, Is clearly another terrible thing entirely. Good riddance. It's one of the things I've really hated about this gen is more and more designers/industry people spending way too much time on the internet getting into bitchy social media fights than actually making great games.
Shut the fuk up.

FireEmblem_Man
Pretty much what he said.
He was constantly beating the drum of being a indie developer, struggling artist, a little guy who was being crushed by the corporate machine, his stardom was too much for him to handle, and blah blah blah.
Everything he did looked and sounded like a guy who was trying to be hip and cool but all he managed to do was sound like a self asborbed, pretentious, hipster douche.
The guy is such a tool. I watched that indie dev docu which he featured in heavily and I can honestly say I wouldnt buy his games purely because I dont want to be partly responsible for putting food in this guys mouth.
For a priveledged and talented individual he really made it seem like being given a platform to reach a worldwide audience was the most horrible thing that has ever happened to anyone. I understand he was under some extreme deadlines and some intense pressures but....welcome to life. If Microsoft took interest in my talents and offered to throw me headfirst into the industry I adored im pretty sure I would bust guts and stay humble until I met their requirements. This guy done nothing but moan and he spoke almost as if the industry owed HIM an infinite timescale and budget in which to complete his game.
Not that he is alone here, we live in a society full of people who are told from childhood they are talented and special, only they are told so much they assume the world will wait for them to use their talent. He had every oppertunity and he blew it due to a basic lack of respect for those around him.
I wanted to play Fez, seems like a great game. Was looking forward to Fez 2 if it was of the same quality.
But now that I know what kind of a douche Fish is, I don't have the intention of playing it anymore. I'm glad he left the gaming industry. I know there were fans of the first games and they were hyped for Fez 2 after the announcement, he dissapointed those people and for what ? So he could win an internet argument ? What a f*cking douche.
Not yet. I didn't even know what Fez was until this whole debacle came to light. Watched a trailer and now Fez is on my wishlist.
Don't give two craps. Â Never played the first, and nothing I read about it especially stood out to me. Â Plus this is one INDIE dev who made one game that people enjoyed (IDK if he made another, but this is the only popular one) and he starts acting like he deserves special treatment. Honestly, the game industry doesn't need people like him.
i didn't think it was a very good game anyway so meh.
i mean it was ok as far as platform puzzlers go but really there are plenty of those around so bummer for fans but i am not missing out on anything.
still, he was stupid not to rush out fez 2 with minimal investment make a couple mil of it then laugh at everyone and quit.

Cancellation of any games is not good news.

What if Ride to Hell had been cancelled?
Then a lot of money and time would have been wasted. Of course, it's entire development was also a waste, but I don't think cancelling it would help.[QUOTE="Cyberdot"]

Then I'd cry tears....of joy. :P
the industry doesn't need someone like him. really.yellosnolvrI agree with you. I also think the crybaby b!tches that call themselves gamers is something our industry could do without as well.
No. Good riddance imo. Fish was the first of many indie diva developers. He's like some crybaby actor. I guess it's good that the industry is mature enough that we now have divas... but f*** divas. Unless they're Beyonce or Mariah Carey. Then hell yeah, f*** divas. Â We all should.
