Prove it. Show me an article or video that proves that Ghost Recon Wildlands runs at native 4k on the Xbox ONE X (or "literally 2 million pixels more than 1440p")
He's right. It's 1440p on the PS4 Pro and "up to 1800p" on the X1X which is around 2 million more pixels than 1440p. On the other hand 4K is 2.5 million more pixels than 1800p.
Let's be clear - you're not getting a native 4K upgrade here on Xbox One X, but what you are getting is a 56 per cent boost in resolution over PS4 Pro

I thought 2 million more pixels meant native 4k. Not that it matters, the Xbox ONE X doesn't come close to a GTX 980 ti, and if he still thinks otherwise then he should prove it (which he won't be able to)

Well there's no proving that as 980ti simply packs more power and the "flops" for nvidia cards are w/o counting the boost clock in btw.

Closer than a 980, closer than Maxwell Titan Black, closer than a 1060.
but perhaps by your definition nothing is “close” to a 980 Ti, everything either smokes the 980 Ti or doesn’t come “close”
@GioVela2010: The 980 Ti is marginally slower than the 1070 but overclocks a lot better. It will beat an X1X 100% of the time. Quit talking about things you know nothing about.
Fixed it for you. There is no possible scenario that a PC with a GTX 980 ti could ever be beaten by an X1X.
6TFLOPS vs 6TFLOPS

336.6 GB/s Memory Bandwidth vs 326.4 GB/s Memory Bandwith
9GB VRAM vs 6GB VRAM
MOre and more 4k games are going to exceed the 6GB VRAM that the 980Ti is limited to, i believe Wildlands already can exceed the 6GB.
Speaking of Wildlands, dips as low as 24 FPS ? might as well VSYNC that shit to 30 FPS @ High SEttings with a 980 Ti.
1) A chart from a PC vs PC with the exact same configs and hardware. Does that reflect what the xbox one x does? nope. Why not? it doesn't have the same cpu / memory or settings in games which makes this whole comparison completely useless. the 580 in that xbox one x isn't fed by this hardware or has settings equal towards this benchmark to give a valid comparison even remotely.
2) 9gb of v-ram shared is not going to be used just by the gpu because then there is simple nothing left anymore. It's shared ram. 6gb of dedicated v-ram with 16gb of system ram > 9 gb of shared ram. Good luck running 2gb of system ram with a 7gb of v-ram dedication to outdo that 6gb. Totally pointless comparison and even loses it big time at that.
3) More v-ram will get used by ultra settings indeed, however a 2gb v-ram card will still play every single pc game out there on ps4/xbox resolution without any issue, a 6gb of v-ram card will last all the way to the end of next generation without issue's. You are thinking far to much into the nvidia hyperbole market of max settings to drive cards. Hint xbox one x doesn't run anything at max settings at all on 4k, its all pr bluff without any decent proof other then a lot of pr hyperbole about nothing.
The 6tflop gpu in the xbox one x will get hammered the moment the cpu has to do more tasks even on top of it. If they would have gone for a 4 tflop gpu and a ryzen cpu you would atleast have seen a rock solid 60 fps in every single game without sweat at 1440p. but that clearly doesn't work in marketting so they builded a worse system just to get the pr market going.
4) the xbox one x is also a one trick pony, resolution. because the gpu is getting bottlenecked to oblivion on that cpu in any other solution, becuase the whole system falls apart. And even then to get to 4k or "dynamic 4k" they have to sacrifice a lot like draw distances etc, lower shadow maps further away which is all heavily cpu related or foilages. It's like a half baked box.
5) Then the xbox one x is heavily limited by what microsoft has to offer, and what devs want to optimize for as you can't do it yourself, a PC you have full control over that 980 ti, you can do whatever you want with it and it will improve all of your performance on any game on any resolution and setting you choose. There is just no comparison really.
The 6tflop gpu doesn't even offer remotely the same value in any way of a 6tflop gpu on a pc platform let alone 980 ti as they are overclockable far past there stock speeds, mostly people sit at aftermarket cards with more performance and even overclock themselves with basic programs that are delivered for it with the cards. So these charts mean even less and less when you think about it.

@GioVela2010: Point is you’re wrong. A GTX 980 Ti won’t be at best equivalent to an X1X. It’s actually the opposite. At worst it’ll match an X1X at stock settings. Overclocked it’s gonna outperform it by 30%+ with a decent one.

Posting charts that are completely inconsistent with the argument? please, you cannot Ron me like Ron does, nobody can! (except for Ron.....where is he anyway?)
Spin it all you want. A 980ti at “high“ settings and dipping below 30 FPS destroys the notion that a X1X can never compete with a 980 Ti
In what way? you DO know Ghost Recon Wild Lands isn't at 4k on the Xbox ONE X right? its actually 1440p and it barely handles 30fps, do you want to know what a GTX 980 ti can do at 1440p? here:
(bare in mind the card isn't even overclocked and its at its highest settings, this card can EASILY achieve 60fps at that resolution, the Xbox ONE X is no where near the GTX 980 Ti's level, so drop the whole notion that it is)

Would love to see how PC graphics cards perform if they had the ability to dynamically drop resolution whenever shit hits the fan. Funny how dynamic resolution is always completely ignored by these knobs.
closer than a 980, closer than a 1060, and closer than a Titan Black :)
With that logic a 1070 is also close to a 1080. A 20% difference isn't close in the world of graphics cards. That's at stock settings. Overclocked a 980 Ti can pull ahead by 30%+ and that's a tier of difference for graphics card.
Man, I forgot how good Maxwell cards were at overclocking. Although, Pascal cards are clocked higher and the boosts are insane, that's why it doesn't need much OCing.
All the people here arguing about the PC and putting a X1X on a golden stool... Need to wake up.
When you develop for PC you are not restrained by a performance barrier, you are only held back by the engine. It is a generational gap... Not visually but in terms of performance on PC.
The X1X runs the game
Dyanamic 1360p to 1790p
framerate goes from 20-30FPS
My PC according to the benchmark
Native 4K
35-55FPS
In terms of performance its a generational leap of a console that JUST came out!
You guys call it a win when a X1X gets 20% more resolution over a PS4 Pro at the same framerates but aren't impressed by a PC that can do 40% at double the framerate and at higher settings?...
Also the performance mode?...
X1X:
1080p
30-40FPS
My PC:
1080p
80-130FPS
And that is with the High settings which is has all the Nvidia performance draining rubbish.
Exactly... nevermind the fact that the current GPU generation is 2 years old, and the next one is due out anytime now.
Xbox One X is not a replacement PC... its just another expensive console with a premium labeled attached and marketing to 4k-obsessed morons that think there is no compromise.
Peasants got dupped. Next they'le say "but but the UHD blu ray player!" ... ah yes.. for the amazing catalog of UHD content... right.

This is pathetic. When I essentially own you every single time your response is to ignore my posts and spread misinformation. Nobody here takes you or your ignorance seriously.
Also, OLED/Dolby Atmos and PC gaming aren't mutually exclusive you dingus. In fact, FF XV will come out with HDR and Dolby Atmos support for PC but you've conveniently ignored that too.

Ok good. You don't like LCD. You do know your OLED screen works on a PC right?
You do know if you had a PC, you'd be able to enjoy FF XV with HDR, native 4K, 30+fps AND Dolby Atmos?
But of course you're trolling so you'll ignore that too.
He's also not bragging about 1080p. He's got a 40" 4K monitor as per his sig.
Yah you can use an OLED on PC but than PC Gamers 1080p frames per second argument goes out the window. Since weaker CPU’s are more effected by trying to achieve higher FPS @low resolutions.
Cool while you wait for that X1X will provably get 2-3 more HDR Games with Atmos.

In other words your only immune to my wrath if you have your PC connected to an OLED TV :)
Well apparently it is "a generation ahead" because of how demanding it is if you try to max it out. DF couldn't achieve 1080p/60fps on a 1080ti OC'ed when enabling two Nvidia Gameworks features that aren't enabled by default on the benchmarks high preset.

And on the High that the benchmark has without tweaking the settings... 1080 Ti gets 80-130FPS and the X1X gets 30-40FPS.
So they have essentially added features to the PC version that will cut performance to a crawl that is not capable on the consoles since they already struggle to play it without those settings.

Benchmark is broken. It draws Gameworks objects that are far away for no reason and that cripples performance. SquareEnix said it'll be fixed in time.

I thought 2 million more pixels meant native 4k. Not that it matters, the Xbox ONE X doesn't come close to a GTX 980 ti, and if he still thinks otherwise then he should prove it (which he won't be able to)
That depends on your definition of “close” obviously
By "close" I mean run Ghost Recon Wild Lands at NATIVE 4k (which means nothing below 2160p or 3840x2160) with the same High graphics quality preset and be able to maintain at least 30fps average (let alone 35fps which a STOCK GTX 980 Ti is capable of holding), I'm still waiting for that proof.
He knows he lost, he just can't bring himself to admit it, I mean really? "xbox equal to 980 ti" pfff, what a peasant.
Yeah it's really not equal to a 980 Ti. Not even close in fact. The 980 Ti is 3-5% slower than the 1070 at stock speeds which is in turn 30-40% faster than a 1060. I can concede the X1X has a faster GPU than the 1060 by 5-15% but nowhere near 30%. With a good overclock a 980 Ti can also gain a 20%+ bump in performance which will make it effectively 50% faster than a 1060 at stock speeds. The better ones can actually enter 1080 territory in terms of performance. The X1X is a tier below. Nowhere near it.
