FF13 actually took only two years on the ps3.

Yea...whatever. I'm sure they've been developing it for the ps3 since they announced it, which was more than 2 years ago.

which is odd because we've been hearing about final fantasy 13 for? 4 years now or so...it doesn't matter what system it started on the ps2 likely all of its development has been moving towards ps3 therefor all its development has 4 years on the ps3.

there is no changing of the fact of this, as soon as a game is thought up from its concept process to actual programming its in development. Development doesn't just mean the programming time it encompases the whole process of thinking a game up, getting it started all that on a system. and we all know regardless of its plans for being ps2 bound at one time, they knew a week after it would be ps3 bound.

so no its development time didn't take 2 years, and even if by some chance it did 360 development time took less.

Maybe 2 years for the engine and 2 years for FF13?
