It gets better once you get paradigms and the game opens up.
Edit: Wait wut, you said the music is bad? Wow.
Even though you're a troll, I'll just say that enemies start hitting a lot harder once you get paradigms. It's a lot easier to die in this game than FFVI~X.
Also, turn off auto battle.
XII was a lot easier than XIII.
The music in XIII is excellent. It's different, but it's also great. There are some off tracks, but there are some really amazing tracks as well. Just like any FF game.

I got stuck on 12, if 13 is harder I'll stay away.[QUOTE="hakanakumono"]I got stuck on 12, if 13 is harder I'll stay away.XII was a lot easier than XIII.

Its hard in a sense cuz u die a lot, but you can get through no problem with trial & error. Also pretty much no farming required.
i stopped taking you seriously at "the music is bad." you're only 3 hours in of a game with around a 70 hour story mode. either way, later on in the game when the difficulty does increase it's more about switching paradigms rather than using potions.
yep, and am i the only one who thought the battle theme is one of the greatest in the series?i stopped taking you seriously at "the music is bad." you're only 3 hours in of a game with around a 70 hour story mode. either way, later on in the game when the difficulty does increase it's more about switching paradigms rather than using potions.

I want to know what post NES ff game doesn't let you get by by mashing the confirm button for battles 3 hours in. Maybe IV or even V, but ...

That doesn't sound too bad.FFXIII is about finding out what strategies work, but you already have all of the tools you need at hand.
Yea its crap, dont let anyone else fool you, when it takes 20 hours before the game opens up i consider that a failure.........this was the worst final fantasy ever........and as soon as i heard it was a mulitplat i knew something like this was going to happen..........THANKS MICROSOFT:cry: and you 2 sell out square enix

FF games have never really been open until you get the airship which is usually over 20 hours into the game anyway. The difference is that they had some mini-games and towns along the way, so it had better pacing.Yea its crap, dont let anyone else fool you, when it takes 20 hours before the game opens up i consider that a failure.........this was the worst final fantasy ever........and as soon as i heard it was a mulitplat i knew something like this was going to happen..........THANKS MICROSOFT:cry: and you 2 sell out square enix

I was with you right up til you bashed MS for Square Enix's poor game design. Did MS publish the game? NO.... Did MS have a studio of theirs working on the game? NO.... nothing about the failure of FFXIII is MS's fault PERIOD.
It got 8.5 because the words "Final" and "Fantasy" were attached to it. That's all. There was some pretty scenery but all of it looked like you were staring at a painting with none of it accessible. The story was absolutely terrible and the characters were amongst the worst I've seen in a video game. I wanted to smack Hope the second I saw the little whinger. Most of the battles were won by hitting X over and over. Sometimes, you change your paradigm so you can heal up then change back and click X again. It was long winded, boring, stupid, one dimensional, incredibly linear moreso than any other game which for an RPG is unforgiveable, and so emo I got fed up with it very quickly.
No customisation, no story, ridiculous characters, just call it a day for the series because you've lost it.
How easy or hard a game is really shouldn't drastically affect its score and yeah your only 3 hrs into a 60 hr game chill out, bro.

X and IX were actually fun experiences when linear, and a lot less cringe-worthy than FFXIII's terrible story and characters.Easily the hardest in the series, but obviously the beginning won't be very challenging. Give it some time.
