If this is turns out to be the case- Which it most likely will- then a big W for One X owners to be able to play this gorgeous game.
Screw that, and if its taken them 4yrs and they still havent even got the first episode out, then full game wont be fully released until the end of next gen.
I would tell people to forget this and enjoy the original which is available now.
Yeah it’s just a timed exclusive. I’ll probably have a PS4 when the game comes out but I’ll just wait and get the Xbox One version whenever it comes out.
@i_p_daily: I don't care. I'll still buy it. I really wanna play this game modernized. I was actually gonna get a PS4 and buy this game, but since it's likely it's coming to One as well, then I'll just get the One X version. Unless it takes a year. Then I'll suck it up and get the PS4 version.
I find it odd this is news, it was always a timed launch exclusive on PS4 since they announced it at E3. And I would guess they really just meant in Japan because why launch it on Xbox there(?), probably be a multiplat for worldwide release. And considering the XIII series and XV wento to Xbox too, why should we expect any difference.

That's true. But some trailers lead us to believe it would only be on PS4. Plus, the Cows going around rubbing it in that Lems won't get FF7 lllloooolllllzzz.
@thatdbfan: Its considered a classic by some because of the way it is, modernizing it changes it entirely and thus not the same.
@ajstyles: As a lem don't speak for me, like ever because you look stupid (par for the course for you i know) and "meant" to be played on Playstation lol.
I do recall thinking it was a PS4 only game when first announced, but I thought it's been pretty common knowledge that it's a timed exclusive.
@thatdbfan: Since 2015 when it was stated "Play it FIRST on PS4" people knew it was timed... You're 4 years behind, bud.
That might just mean PC though.
I dunno about Xbone but it's definitely coming to PC. It's been known forever that it's a timed exclusive.
That was obvious when the trailer said "first on PlayStation". If Kingdom Hearts 3, FF7, FF9, FFX and FF12 didn't stay exclusive then this wasn't going to either.
That's pretty obvious. Nearly every other Final Fantasy game just recently went multiplat so what would make this one any different?

Look who is already salty lmao.
Didn't see you crying about Crackdown 3 delays tho.
@fedor: And you're eacting like Japan loves PC gaming all of a sudden. They still hate our guts and would rather not have their games on PC at all, but Steam's way too big to ignore.
I am saying that if Octopath Traveler does poorly on Steam, then Square Enix has a reason to stay on consoles, thus ruling out the possibility of the FF7 remake being released on PC.
Lol at everyone assuming it will be on PC. Considering Japan's disposition towards the PC platform, it is far more likely that the sales of Octopath Traveler will decide if we even get the FF7 remake.
The original was on PC back in the day.
@flashn00b: FF7 sold very well on PC already, it makes absolutely no sense not to put it everywhere once the exclusivity ends.
They aren't going to base anything on octopath sales, that's silly. They'll just compare it to other FF games which all do well on PC. Its easy money.

You mean the same disposition to the PC platform where there are literally more Japanese games coming to PC than Xbox One?
@calvincfb: Look who's trying to stalk me with his salty arse alt comments.
Did you complain about the 10yr wait for the Last Guardian? I mean how many alts did you go through here waiting for that game?

lmao still salty I see. No, I didn't care about TLG, not my kind of game.
Stay salty, I_Salty_Daily, it's what you do best, and check that blood pressure. LMFAO
If it is, I can't see why they'd be in a hurry to do it. Oh I'm SO sure they're looking forward to that 96/4 split in sales doing an Xbox One port. ?
It was time exclusive when they were still outsourcing it to CyberConnect2. Things might be completely different now.
Also lol at those salty cows.
LOL @ anyone excited about FF7 being turned into an episodic (YAY you get to play $180 for a $60 game!) action RPG. Lets make FF 7 like crap Final Fantasy 15!
I look very much forward to NOT playing this.

For the most part, developers from Japan are only supporting the PC platform begrudgingly because Steam is way too big to ignore. The only developers that actually seem to care about the PC platform are Idea Factory and PlatinumGames despite the latter's collaboration with Nintendo. (Platinum actually did admit to PC Gamer Magazine that they want all their non-Nintendo stuff to be on PC, and have expressed their interest in Granblue Fantasy Re:Link getting a PC port before their contract with Cygames ended). Every other Japanese developer on the other hand will grasp whatever reason that they can find to stay on consoles. Hell, it seems as if Nihon Falcom have dropped their PC support over Ys 8, showing that it really only takes one failed game to tell a developer to stay on consoles.
Other examples of Japanese developers abandoning the PC over one game include Sandlot with EDF 4.1 and Atlus with Catherine Classic. The worst part of it all is that PC gamers have this mentality that Japan doesn't hate PC gaming anymore. The sooner we unbind ourselves from that illusion, the sooner we can actually fight for more Japanese games on PC. Otherwise, we'll see less and less Japanese games on PC as one failed PC launch is enough to convince a developer from Japan to stay on consoles. This also means that if you're a fan of the Tales series, you'll also need to support the SoulCalibur, God Eater, Tekken and Ace Combat franchises because same developers.
So yes, those that want the FFVII remake to release on PC will need to buy Octopath Traveler because it's being made by the same developers.
Who knows I mean nobody wants to play this months later they wanna play it when it comes out
Most people aren't going to spend $300 on another system for a game they know is coming to one they already own anytime soon. But for me, if it takes a year or so for it to come to Xbox One, then I'll just get the PS4 version. I was gonna get that console for Hz2, and Uncharted.
