FF7 should i go back and play it?

i want to put my PS3 to use outside of blu ray DVDs.

i had GOW2 beat it then sold it, rented Heavenly Sword and beat it, had Resistance played a couple of hours then sold it and that has been the life story of the PS3 for me and i got the early 60 gig $600 one.

at least i can use its backwards compatibility which the new 40 gigs wont have = ). i was thinking about going back and playing FF7 and try to get in to the FF series so i enjoy my PS3 better. FF gets a lot of buzz and FF7 is considered the best RPG of all time I believe.

should i go back and play it? is there a remake coming sometime in the near future? do you think the game is just too far out dated that it would just be impossible to enjoy?

a couple of years ago for the gamecube i played ocrania of time and loved it even with its old graphics.

hook me up with some opinions.

To be honest, FF7, Baldur's Gate 2 and X-Com: UFO defense are my favorite games of all times so I am alittle biaist towards them.

and resistance is good but when i want to play FPS im good with Halo 3, Gears of War and soon COD4 on XBOX live. i wasnt even intersted in beating resistance to tell you the truth. just didnt take a liking to the game. i kept it for like 3-4 months it collected dust so i just slanged it.

I'm sorry, but I tried finally tried playing it and I thought it SUCKED! I'm really not into RPG's that aren't real time. (Like fighting. I want to ****ing push buttons and mash the bastards! Not some boring text selecting turn system).

thanks for your honesty. but really the game is so cheap i can get it off ebay for really cheap because the game is something like a decade old now so it wouldnt hurt to buy it and if i dont like it im not really out that much money.

Its a great one to revisit. If you dont own, its very hard to find. If you find it, its gonna be expensive.

When Advent children came out a while back, there were eBay auctions selling individual discs for the game. They went for 40-60 bucks apiece.

I dunno about it being that expensive, just check your local used game shops... those 40-80 dollar copies are for mint, I think. You should be able to pick it up for between 10-20 bucks, it's not like old SNES RPG carts.

No doubt Halo 3 is a better FPS than Resistance, but the weapons in resistance make for some very unique and exciting multiplayer situations. Like killing an entire group of humans by shooting through the wall before they can even see you. Or freezing your rockets in a doorway so sumone runs into it and gets massive dmg. Those type of moments are well worth keeping resistance imo, but i understand..Halo 3 is the better online game, although resistance is a marvelous first attempt by insomniac and very addictive. As for GoW2, once you beat GoW2, u gotta take a break for a while and then you will see yourself wanting to be Kratos again. its kinda like how you are playing FFVII and Zelda right now...u r gonna wanna do the same thing with GoW2.

FF7 still goes for like $50-$60 on ebay i guess because they are rare. man they need to make a remake because a lot of people are out there wanting the game thus the high prices on ebay.

or at least re retail the old one. maybe make a bundell or something for the PS3 kind of how GC did with the old Zeldas.

there is a lot of money to be made off that game im surprsied FF doesnt cash in on it. the longer the wait the less money there is to be made.

Im glad GoW2 was on PS2. It meant we got the best game possible. If it was on PS3 it would have been a lil lack luster, because they would still be getting used to the hardware and wouldnt be able to abuse it the way they want. but on ps2 they knew the ins and outs of the system so they were able to give use the best experience possible on PS2. And the graphics in that game are off the richtor...they are absolutley stunning.

Why ask us? If you want to play it, play it. Outdated, and that means? We are gamers, its a game, go play it.

because i wanted to know how it has aged on some people. there are some games which were awesome for their time but are just really hard to play now with how the graphics updated so much and all that.

yeah true that if they would have made it on the PS3 just for the sake of it being on PS3 we probably would have a game which wasnt as good.

the graphics were awesome in 2 expecially the cut scenes were better than cut scenes i have seen in a game.

can not wait until #3 comes out. man i skeeted myself just thinking about it.

if your playing it for the sole reason of geting back into the FF groove...then why not play more recent final fantasies?

AS for that the reason ff7 goes for so much is because collectors want the none greatest hits version.

11 is way to harsh on gamers.... de-leveling ftl.... Nothing is more ridiculous than a group of 5 all fighting to take down a stupid goblin. Soloing is basically non existant in that game. from lvl 13+ you are in a party 24/7 or u dont lvl. I luv when you play for 6hrs+ straight only to have a string of deaths and then you de-lvl...so annoying -.-
