FFVII Remake is Debunked...AGAIN

FFVII for me is one of the greatest games ever made. It would have been nice to see this masterpiece brought into a new generation, for a new generation of gamers. Of course, a remake of this game would certainly help Sony in their console sales.

Not really heh. Im hoping that it will come eventually. If the staff actually wants to remake FF7 (Which from the article it seems like that do) and there is a demand for it, it may come. Im hoping for a FF7 remake announcement after the release of FF13

Isin't that the guy that said FF:AC was going to be 30 minutes long, then 60 minutes long, then said there was going to be only 1 version of KHII? 

Yeah this is more of a confirmation buddy. 

I can't stand re-makes. Although Capcom did a good job re-making the first RE. So maybe it could work.

It's kinda sad, as I don't doubt that any FF fan would say no to this. Oh, well: what can you do?  If square wants to spend their time focusing of Valkyrie Profile 3, I won't stop 'em.

if you don't wait for it or expect it, the suprise will be even greater.  Honestly, I don't see a remake coming man.  Not in the next 5 years at least.  Consider the docket of Final Fantasy handheld and console games they already have in the works.  It's impossible to think they could fit in something like that.

I'm still hopeful.

They saw the reaction from the tech demo, they know how much money they can make and in business money talks, so an FFVII remake could very well happen despite SE denying it atm. 

I'm never played a FF game, but i do wonder, if there is no FFVII remake in the works, why the hell did they make that video for e3 05?  Seems like a waste of time and money to me.  They did all that for nothing?  It sure got fans' hopes up.  As someone earlier mentioned, it seems like they're stringin fans along, torturing them with the hope of a remake.

If they aren't secretly working on a remake, then the only reason i could think of them making that video would be to see what kind of response it'd get, to decide whether they should plan to do a remake sometime in the future.

For the PS2, there was a tech demo of a scene from Final Fantasy VIII, so it isn't like this is something unprecedented. They just did it because they're tight with Sony, and want to help show off the new console's power.

I'm not a big fan of PS1 games on the PSN. Seems like a rip-off.

I'm happy that they are re-remaking FFVI.  Always viewed it as a much better FF than FFVI, despite the last, last, last generation graphics.

Nah, Square had a statement that they weren't supporting Wii's Virtual Console to fit their "business plan." I can imagine this is the same deal with Sony as well.

Also here's the thing though.... Dirge of Cerberus at the end of the credits, has a new enemy appear with a gigantic wing. So uh... hint much? Crisis Core seems to have more do with what's happening with that enemy's past. I'd expect another sequel game.

They're going to remake/port it. They always do. It'll just be a long time. Look forward to FFXIII instead for now.
