FFvs13 vs. Halo 3 Recon

i have been seeing some rediculous threads about ffvs13 and halo 3 recon. i dont know who started this but sony fans were claiming ownage just cos halo 3 recon is an expansion???? i mean wtf? who cares if its an expansion?

and in return xbox360 fans said ffvs13 is also an expansion.

to clear this up once and for all!

Halo 3 Recon = Expansion - it follows the same story as the other halos during the same timeline but through someone elses perspective.....its not a completely new game like some ppl are making it out to be.

FFvs13 = Completely Different Game - it is not an expansion because it does not expand on what FF13 is doing. it is not related in any way expect for being set in the same universe as FF13. it is an alternate story of the fabulo crystalis series (or whatever its called)

Except this is not your typical expansion for consoles, they are not even sure how to price it yet bc of the content. The gameplay will be slightly different while your playing as a new character. Not to mention its own multiplayer, so whatever happens it should be good. Hopefully the price won't be too much, probably around $40, we will see if the price is fair once we get more info. Everything else is just speculation.

It should be MGS4 vs Halo 3 Recon since Recon is MS's attempt to make up for the lack of MGS 4.SolidGame_basic

The Halo follow up shows the same story going on from another viewpoint. Someone should not start with this game. If you're getting into Halo you do not pick this game to start because for all the questions you're going to get "Well you should play Halo so and so to find that out"

Final Fantasy goes through another path during the same time but the start, middle, and ending of the game applies only there. There are other things going on but it's built to be a self contained adventure. You wont need to know what happened previously to get almost all of it.

If people are trying to say the two are the same then all games that feature Earth are linked because they all happen at the same time.

The fact that an expansion game is even being compared to a full game speaks volumes for Halo. But personally I do not see the point in comparing them, both should be good though.Grady420

Halo recon is a full and complete game on its own,people are reading into the whole expansion thing too much not really understanding what this game actually is.xgraderx

Okay, ill explain what i know of Halo Recon. Hopefully this will educate people (and hopefully i dont have any facts wrong) but here goes:

Its being built on the same Halo 3 engine, is an expansion to the Halo 3 story, and will be set on earth. The explosion you witness in the keep it clean trailer is when Truths ship (which Master Chief is aboard at the end of Halo 2) enters orbit and lands on earth. You'll view things from an ODST's perspective. It will ship on a retail disk, and come with another 1000 achievement points. The "new" multiplayer maps that it ships with will actually just be maps from the mythic map pack, which will be releasing through XBL early next year (Jan-Mar). Its multiplayer component will be the same as Halo 3's, and people playing online in Recon will still be able to play people playing online in Halo 3.

I know it will sell well, its Halo, I am just trying to state something while keeping the cows off me.

It is an expansion and a small project (well it's developed by a small team) according to bungie.

deal with it. It will still be a great expansion.
