Kind of funny. I wonder if Square's angry.

It already sold out (PS3 and 360 versions) at my nearest game store and TCG store... and the TCG store sells hacked 360s as well as pirated games :|
The 360 version will do fine even with the pirating.
It's crazy how fast these 360 pirates are...
Well, I'm sure it won't affect sales to much...the biggest hurdle to overcome for 360 is the 576p gameplay / FMVs, compressed sound, 3 discs.
It just looks sub par in comparison, but I don't know if the mass public will notice until after they bought FFXIII.

It is its been debunked all ready, the 576p was found out by pixel counters using the one set of bad square images, the most recent videos and images have shown the game is no where near as bad as those images looked and that the game is not 576p.P.S: then theres the fact that the 360 verson uses Bink video codec which is the best video game cinematic codec ever in terms of quality and compression.

The mass public won't notice at all because the mass public doesn't nitpick.
Nobody who just wants to enjoy the game is going to notice massive differences in these videos which look very good:

Infact worse in some cases Neogaf long ago became a fanboy land drivel with insane mods.
2.the user you quoted seems to have been banned.
3. And whats the context of his image? what images did he use to do whatever he did? did he use the latest video and images? or the first square set and video that look horrible compared to the latest images and video?
@both you and Soldity
Come back when the retail version is released, and beyond3d *superior pixel counters* do it and they post it in the resolutions thread, till then we have a problem we have one set of images that look like total crap then we have the latest set which look far better and the videos that look great as well.

Those who have agendas are not going to consider the context and other factors.
I'm personally gonna wait till the official word from Beyond3d resolutions thread. Till then we have some major problems with a comparison we have the one set of square images that look like TOTAL crap and support the cow theory the 360 version is totally inferior and gimped.
then we have another the most recent pictures and videos showing the game not to look NEARLY as bad as those pictures made out and infact matches the ps3 version quite alot which supports the lemming theory the game is not horribly inferior but matches the ps3 version quite a bit.

I've been keeping up with it, we'll just have to see. This has nothing to do with neutral, if I don't discuss what I know, then I won't find out any new information. The whole point is to get any new information, and spread information I know about FFXIII which is coming out in less than a week.
People that are on the fence should know what's going on, it's up to us all to figure that out.
Bayonetta is better on 360. Does saying that make me a Lemming?
Can't I just figure out FFXIII days before release? :P
It seems to me there are two conflicting NEW sources, one from Neogaf which is questionable since it's a poster, and one from XBox world, which may be Xbox PR.
In the end, even with the PR in full throttle, the PS3 has an advantage with this game, but the advantage isn't as large.
I don't understand why so many people have this negative attitude about the 360 version of the game, as if they want it to fail. Some people have actually given MS crap about advertising the game as if that's some crime.
I don't own a 360. I think it's a good console with asperb controller, but it's also avanilla console IMO and I'm not interesting in too many of it's exclusives. Even though I'm not a big 360 fan, I'm glad that they get to experience what looks to be the best JRPG this gen so far.

What people on what fence? Hardly anybody is on the fence in this forum.
There's no doubt that the Ps3 version has advantages, but your use of the term "subpar" is what makes your post not seem neutral. The videos look anything but supbar even compared to the PS3 videos. Also, 3 discs is not really a "hurdle" so that language seems quite strong as well. It's a minor disadvantage at best and that's only if one compares it to the Ps3's single disc.
There is only one reason for anybody to make a big issue of the 360 version and I think I've addressed what that is quite enough.

Who are Team Blur? Those "X10 images" that article links to aren't really "the latest official shots that are confirmed NOT fake" they're from the same batch of assets released on February 12th, pre-Buttonswapgate.
Gamersyde "X10 image"

But I'd still wait until the embargo lifts and DF gives it a proper head to head before assuming anything.

wow, kind of sad how some of these people are still in denial about the 360 versions resolution, holding on to that last bit of hope that its not actually true and that its not actuallly 576

You don't have much history here, at SW, since you are a new poster, so you are a bit out of the loop.
However, since you are new, you should know that since the announcement of this game, this place was riddled with laughter about FFXIII. In fact, many in SW following FFXIII before the 2010 news regarding the 360 version have made statements like this, "360 has the best multiplats, this game will be best on 360. Prepare for ownage. Ports are easy with Crystal tools, blah, blah, " You get the idea.
No one really could say much here since there was nothing to see, and it's usually true in the pixel counting arena 360 usually does win.
Even further, what if that was the case? What if the 360 version ended up being the best version and people explained that here in SW (Happens with every HUGE multiplat game here BTW). Do you think anything would be different?
Bayonetta was a huge deal just this year, where were you then?:P
Just because you post doesn't mean that you are right, just the same for me. I would love to say that everytime I post I'm disabling a "fanboy agenda". I've squashed many of those, but that's not my only intent. I am an educator, and hopefully I get education from time to time. :P

If after weeks of evidence, someone believes one side or the other, that's not an agenda, it's just a belief. No big deal.:P We are all human.
What I'm saying is, all we can do is trade links, discuss what we think, and see how this plays out in 6 days.:P

They do. A lot of people want FFXIII to fail period.
I agree. The amount of misinformation on FFXIII is staggering. People are actually canceling their pre-orders based on stuff that's not even true such as "no towns". It's downright insane how some people accept pure rumors and ignore people who've actually played the game. Even looking at clips on YouTube can debunk some of these rumors.

I signed up after the Bayonetta stuff, but I did lurk a bit during that period. But as an owner of the inferior version of that game, I don't see what the fuss was about.
If the 360 version was better, you'd probably have many people trying to pretend that a highly similar PS3 version is somehow drastically inferior because it's the less ideal version.
I'd rather talk about games than disable fanboy agendas, but I just feel that this game is getting crap because it's not an exclusive and that irritates me.

People believe one side or the other because they want to believe one side on the other. I believe my opinion is balanced. PS3 version will definitely be the one to get if one has both consoles, but the 360 version looks to be perfectly adequate.
I don't believe I have an agenda as I've openly stated that I really don't care for the 360 that much; so it's definitely no love for MS that's causing me to defend the 360's version. I'm just tired of people being negative towards games once they go multiplat.

I meant absolutely no offense by the post was just wondering. Also FFXIII on the 360 is a bit of a sore point for me atm as my PS3's BR drive is dead again and i have to get it for the 360 :(, so seeing negative stuff about that version bothers me atm :P
Kashiwaba
I can only get the PS3 version (and would get the PS3 version without hesitation if I was given two choices) and seeing negative sentiment towards the 360 version bothers me because it seems like many people have an agenda when it comes to that version and they want it to fail. Needless to say, I don't like fanboy agendas.
JRPG fans should hope that FF13 sells well on both consoles after all itts the flag ship of all JRPGs if it failed then we should say farewell to all JRPGs on home consoles in the future.
I agree. FF13 succeeding both as a game and comercially is very important.

Bayonetta was a huge deal just this year, where were you then?
Just because you post doesn't mean that you are right, just the same for me. I would love to say that everytime I post I'm disabling a "fanboy agenda". I've squashed many of those, but that's not my only intent. I am an educator, and hopefully I get education from time to time.
I've seen your Xboxworld.com Xbox PR link, you've seen the latest post from NEOGAF. Is it going to be an agenda if this game actually is everything people have been saying for weeks. Do you have an agenda in trying to do DC for FFXIII? We don't know you, you're new, ya know? Are you with Xboxworld?(Just kidding)
My point is, there are agenda on both sides, and then there are guys that are trying to figure it out. If after weeks of evidence, someone believes one side or the other, that's not an agenda, it's just a belief. No big deal.
We are all human.
What I'm saying is, all we can do is trade links, discuss what we think, and see how this plays out in 6 days.

I signed up after the Bayonetta stuff, but I did lurk a bitduring that period.
While that is true, that damage was done way back when the 360 announcement was made. It was a nuclear bomb here at SW.:P
At this point, it's just people trying to figure out what's goin on, mixed with fanboys on each side.
Yes, games that go multiplat get folks a bit angry (Devil May Cry, Bioshock, etc.) but I guess that's how it's always going to be.:P
I hope this game sells well for SE, and I hope it's an amazing game. I'm not into sales, I hardly post about it, but I do want my games I like to sell well enough for future releases.:P
Bioshock was always multiplat, so I doubt there was any anger in that case. But anyway, I hope its combat system truly does blur the lines between action games and turn-based JRPGs. I hope that the brilliant new design choices in FFXIII get recognition and don't get bogged down by any huge weaknesses. I truly do think FFXIII will be the new way forward for JRPGs.

as if they want it to fail.
GreySeal9
I know, it's awful. The reason why I'm such a proponent of FFXIII is because I find it to be the biggest step forward the series has taken in terms of gameplay. Every FF game is primarily made up of battles. Here's a novel thought: What if those battles were all challenging, exciting, strategic, and engaging? That's exactly what FFXIII is out to do.
It seems to me that there is a bigger focus on gameplay than ever before, but in turn the comments about it just being "an interactive movie" are still sprouting up. People expected it to be as such, so that's what the hate is living up to. It doesn't matter what FFXIII is or isn't. People are out to prove that it's a poor entry in the series and a poor game.

I haven't played the game myself, but this post pretty much explains exactly why I'm so damn excited for it. The battles look as compelling as the ones in any action game. I think the battle system will combine the best things about action games and turn-based RPGS and fuse them into something spectacular and unique. Some people will give me flak for saying this, but I think the game's action looks as exciting as Bayonetta's, just in a different way.

Agreed on all points. The really amazing thing is that even some FFX fans are complaining about it. I'm thinking, "So you get a much more compelling battle system coupled with the same straight forward structure and somehow it severely pales in comparison toFFX?" Craziness.
Why is that funny? BTW, 360 games always get leaked early. Nothing new here.Didn't see another story on this but I'm also pretty lazy.
Kind of funny. I wonder if Square's angry.

Hopefully you'll enjoy it. It's the only game I've played that's made me want to play again almost directly afterwards.
I think FFX came from a greater position of "maturity" in storyline, which imo is FFXIII's greatest drawback (its a good JRPG story, but it could be so much better). So in that sense, it doesn't live up to it. But in terms of battle gameplay it surpasses it, and it even has less linear map design with more room for player exploration than FFX.

Well, as long as FFXIII has a good story that stays interesting, I don't mind if it lacks maturity in a few spots.
That being said, even if FFX's story was executed better (I'll just take your word for it since you played the game), I like the concept behind FFXIII's story better. I think the hostile dynamic between Cocoon and Grand Pulse is more interesting than Sin.

People have been doing that since the Final Fantasy series hit the Playstation. I've personally enjoyed every entry into the main series, so I generally ignore those kind of comments, especially from those who haven't even played the game. You've actually played the game from start to finish and have a lot of positive things to say about the game, so I'll actually take your opinion far more seriously.
On topic: I'm stumped how pirates always manage to get these games in advance. -_-
It's because the game broke street date, so people got ahold of it early. In Japan, square only sent the game to shops release day, preventing this sort of thing from happening. But that might have been unfeasible for NA and Europe.
I watched a stream of the English ver on justin.tv. I was worried about Sazh, but they did an excellent job with him. Vanille is still annoying though and when she gets attacked it sounds like borderline moaning.

It's great, I was just hoping it would be even better.
