FFXIII gets 39/40 (Official)

Beautiful graphics and superb story. These aspects can be enjoyed without feeling as though they're being forced upon you. Combined with this, the extreme sense of satisfaction from the gameplay, is a direct result of a system that's evolved and reached perfection.
With no vice to really speak of, at this time, this game stands at the RPG forefront of a superb combination of story and gameplay who's value can undoubtedly be experienced by all.

There's a few niggling issues like battle damage being difficult to see, and the screen being cluttered, but the amount of enjoyment this game offers more than makes up for it. You'll be drawn into the world with visual, aural, and story aspects.I have a bit of resistance calling this an "RPG-like RPG" however.

Extravagant and dense (referring to the amount of content?). A lot of points to keep your eyes open for and is very movie-like. Very beautiful movies are included in a story full of events, to the point where it's difficult to determine where to put the controller down at the beginning. With the amount of character growth, gathering and crafting available in the game, there's enough enjoyable content for you to last for a while with just this one game.

Including the beauty of the visual side of things, the total quality is very high. The script is strictly dandy and irritating (whatever the hell that means). Character typecasting is unavoidable and while there should be "your own (character's own?) story", this does not exist. However, the sense of satisfaction gained from playing the game is extremely good, and is something I've never experienced before.

Anything less then 40/40 from them on FF13 has me a bit worried but no doubt, do want.

So according to famitsu 12 was the better game interesting.

They haven't given an FF title a 40/40 aside from FFXII. Not surprising and that one reviewer probably has good reasoning behind his/her 9. The battle system looks annoying and the numbers aren't very easy to read from the gameplay I've seen.

You cannot trust Famitsu. They gave Gundam Crossfire a 32/40, 8 from each reviwer, FF XII a 40/40 but FF X only a 39/40, and Nintendogs a 40/40.

Yeah, because someone couldn't have made that up too :roll: I never said it wasn't real, but with a game as big as FF13 of course people will make things up.

I havent, well i was. My mum will be in Japan and returning on the 21st. So its 12 days till i actually have it.

But i'd advise you to just wait untill a week into january or so. You either wont see it untill March or you'll never see it, trust me. Im speaking from experience regarding Mid-late december importing.

eh, I'll pass... I'm sure the game will be beautiful but JRPG's from SE have lost their touch.

Even though Famitsu can't be trusted, it's not as if Final Fantasy XIII won't be an AAA game.

Fatmitsu scores aren't just opinions, they aren't useful for anything other gauging interest. Their reviews never provide any worthwhile text. But since the mag is a joke, its not really even a good excample lol. Anyway, the game will be good which is all that is important.

I don't trust famitsu any more, they have given away more perfect score in the past two years (2008 & 2009) than they have in the 21 or so years they have been around prior to that. Seriously first 21 first = 6 perfect games according to them, then in 2008 and 2009 = 7 perfect games from them, seriously WTF talk about lowering standards.
