FFXIII-3 incoming!? new FF teaser

The Final Fantasy XIII-2 Ultimania Omega book released in Japan today, and contains a new interview with producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama, where both seem to hint at a new project in the XIII universe which could most likely be Final Fantasy XIII-3.

This could contsin spoilers for XIII-2

Kitase: (The last part about Lightning?s DLC Episode) Explaining ?XXX Years Later? would be pointless. It might seem that the line ?To Be Continued?? means that Lightning?s chapter will continue in more download content, but we are doing it in a different interpretation.

Toriyama: With Lightning remaining in the ????? (crystal?) but still keeping her heart, you could say that the world of Final Fantasy XIII will be permanently ??ed. I?m praying for the day to come that Lightning will surely ???? (wake up?) and Serah will be rewarded. Like Lightning advancing one step forward in the secret event, I think we want to take a step forward to advance our own project. From now on, I?d be happy if you could anticipate it.

FFXIII-2 was great so a XIII-3 is welcomed... a great game gettin a sequel =/= making the brand name bad.

FFXIII plat was very hard so i stopped going for it but FFXIII-2 was truly easy, didnt stop playing i unlocked the plat. game was very fun.

The PS3 version is said to hit this holiday and will include all fixes and version 2.0.

Dammit why couldn't they have done this with the world of FF12..

You can tell FFXIII-3 is gonna get even weirder (for you haters) because Toriyama said "I?m praying for the day to come that Lightning will surely ???? (wake up?) and Serah will be rewarded..." but [spoiler] Serah died at the end of FFXIII-2 [/spoiler]

I woudl love 13-3, but way down the road, finish Versus and FF15 and make it a mid/late PS4 game.

I have 13-2,but I still need to fvcking finish FF13.

Not sure why they keep making sequels to this series of FF game that two thirds of it's fanbase totally despise but what ever. Jeez classic FF7 on steam is more exciting news than this.

FF13-2 was not that good, but was way better than FF12-13, so there is always hope

Cant they stop make new FF and finish FF Vs XIII instead..

One of the worst FF's out of all of them yet they're turning THAT into a trilogy and not 7,8 or 9? :? Square have lost the plot

FF XIII was an abomination, FF XIII-2 was ok. both of them have boring cast of characters and boring story. But I like the gameplay. I wouldn't mind for them to move on to another FF and drop that one

Compare that to the other entires in the series. FF was always one of the legendary series you could count on to deliver and FF13 was a huge letdown.

Just look at any thread it is brough up in and watch how quickly the discussion turns negative. People weren't happy with it.

Some people used to love the series and would prefer not to have to "skip" it from here on out because of the direction they've gone.

Plus it would be in your best interest as well for Square to turn this ship around, because if the brand is damaged it will sell less (just look at the huge dropoff between XIII and XIII-2). If it sells less they won't be able to justify the massive budgets, and then one of the things that makes FF unique (being a JRPG with a big budget) is gone.

Neither does having time paradoxes happen as a excuse for randomized events to happen. It is all just very poorly written. Not only that but the story itself just isn't really interesting nor does it make much sense even when you read through all the datalogs. A revenge plot wouldn't be a bad idea for a FF title actually or something a bit more on the serious side and not this constant cutesy anime drivel we keep seeing. With that said, I don't want FF to turn into a boring ass Bethesda game either. Not sure where you got that idea.

As for your DLC comment, thats not the point I was trying to make. You can kiss goodbye to actual optional quests and boss fights on the disc now. SE has learnt of a new method. Milkage through DLC. Time to bend over FF fans.

They need to figure out how to get back to where they were before, and I think they should leave XIII and its world/characters behind as quickly as possible. Let gamers forget.
