EA producer Matt Prior has told Official Nintendo Magazine thatFIFA 13will look at its best on Wii U.

FIFA 13 will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in September but in an exclusive interview with ONM, Prior said that EA has been able to improve the visuals for the Wii U version.

"It's on a par with 360 and PS3 and we were even able to make some key graphical improvements," said Prior. "We focused on areas that would have the most impact on the game."

"As revealed in ONM 85, you can tackle, pass, shoot plus take free kicks and penalties using the GamePad's touchscreen while you can also analyse stats, make strategic decisions in real-time and deliver half-time team talks on the new Wii U controller."

Post a summary of the article in your opening post and I was about to post this, but I thought it wasn't SW material.

The passing/tackling/shooting with the touchscreen seems clunky and not needed, however I do like the idea of a manage hub, and being able to adjust tactics in game on the tousch pad. The new free kick and penalty system sounds much better than the previous versions.

Copied in the text. Seemed quite relevant to SW IMO. :P Needs a few more pro Wii U topics to balance out the negatives on here too!

Yeah that's pretty much my thoughts. I can't imagine passing/tackling/shooting on the gamepad, would take you away from the main screen too much. Will wait to try it though before completely ruling it out. Other ideas seem great I think.

Cows this gen - "Well of course the devs are too lazy to utilize the full powah of the PS3, lazy port, 360 holding it back, blah, blah, blah"

Cows going into next gen - "Pfft, fail. WiiU is tapped. Port or no port there is nothing to push on the WiiU."

I love SW irony. Just like when all you guys b*tched and moaned about Nintendo being too far out with their controller only to turn around and b*tch when they offered a carbon copy of your favorite controllers.

This certainly doesnt make it worth buying a wiiu if you already own a 360 or ps3. Not even a good idea for those who dont own a 360 or ps3. Pay at least $100 more for a wiiu with minimal graphical improvements, small multiplayer base and have a tiny library to choose from.

Wiiu will be left in the dust once the multiplat games go to next gen. Wiiu will get watered down versions if anything.

Wiiu will be an inbetweener at best. You dont waste an e3 showing for a new console without showcasing target graphics and capabilities unless the console is a wiikling. Remember all the amazing things shown at e3 2005?

Oh you mean the pre-rendered KZ2 video? Or the "real time" MGS4 video running on a beastly PC? Maybe you were talking about that FFVII tech demo? Or maybe it was that fake ass Warhawk footage? Or was it the footage for Wardevil, a game that never actually existed? Oh no, you must be reffering to all those physics demos that never amounted to sh*t? Maybe it was the killer app Layer you're talking about. Or maybe, could it be, that fake ass footage for FFXIII?

Yeah I remember. If you like being mislead, then cool I guess.

You know what people tend to forget about 2005? Oh the fact that everyone thought PS3 would be another PS2 with full market domination, all the exclusives and all the 3rd party games. The fact that people thought the Wii would be Nintendos end. The fact that people thought the 360 would be a 20, maybe 30 million seller at best, scraping for the scraps when it comes to games.

Amazing how people forget such things, but then turn around and make certain predictions about the future based on a multiplat. Dont you think so?

Yes, they should stick with Wiimote controls. They are good. If they combine them with a full version of the game, WiiU could be the new home of soccer

I guess you forgot about Gears of War and Oblivion being shown at e3 2005 or the fact that 360 launch game COD 2 required a high end pc to match the 360s graphics and performance.

Sorry but I think this gamepad is gonna ruin a lot of cool games. It seems developers feel like they have to take advantage of this "gimmick" and I hope future game don't end up sacrificing good chunks of gameplay just to make it work together with the gamepad...

For once I have to agree with these two... Who could ever be jelly of a console that has to fight and claw to get a game looking better than a 7 year old console?!... If the Wii U played everything the 360/PS3 had at 1080p and 60FPS then it would have some ground to stand on. As of right now all the indications point to it being VERY LITTLE improvement.

This certainly doesnt make it worth buying a wiiu if you already own a 360 or ps3. Not even a good idea for those who dont own a 360 or ps3. Pay at least $100 more for a wiiu with minimal graphical improvements, small multiplayer base and have a tiny library to choose from.

Yeah man, those early ports from previous gen consoles certainly dictate all of what is to come.

The exclusives looked better than anything on the PS2,XBOX and GC. The WiiU however hasn't shown anything equal to PS3 and 360 exclusives let alone better. The reason being is that its not a next generation console. Could you imagine what would happen to these forums if Sony and Microsoft released a console with no game that looks better than the current generation?... Lets not make excuses for Nintendo, we don't work for the marketing team.

I think the problem of the WiiU will be that it will not be cheaper than the playstation3 and 360. The sucess of the Wii came from the price and the wii sports. Unless I am completely wrong but I think releasing what looks to be a possible "meh" console in terms of visuals, with a higher price point that current competitors + with the expectation of the next 2 big announcements from Sony and Mircrosoft + the begining of things such as Onlive and OUYA, I do not see much sucess for this.

The WiiU has a modern feature set. It's impossible for it to be left behind from the other consoles like the Wii was this time.
