PES2008 was a total disappointment.... Had such high expectations but unfortunately I prefare Fifa 08...
Still love Pro Evo, more off pitch tactics I think.
I don't know if Fifa has changed, but in Pro Evo you still need to adjust your formation and tactics in every match otherwise its gonna be a struggle.
Still give Fifa props for starting to finally improve and evolve.
The only good thing is that Konami know that PES2008 wasn't well received by the public and hopefully their next installment will be once again the King of footy games :)
I like FIFA more than PES now. Playing PES 08 was an unbelieveable dissapointment to me. FIFA 08 was the better choice.mo0ksi

Well they said their going back to the drawing board and not rushing the next one. If I was them I wouldn't worry about bringing it out on time, but take 6 or so months extra if needed and just get it right and make sure its fully featured. The next installment after would be easier to just build of that version.
On another note the Wii version could also be good, im keeping a watch out for it. Konami are really taking their time with it as well.
the next gen version of FIFA08 is probably the best footy game ive ever played took a while to adjust after coming off PES on the PS2 but damn once you "get it" it plays a fantasticly realistic game of football it is a slower paced game than PES but the matches are much more tense, tight and tactical add in the life like graphics and fluid animation and it looks just like highlights of a real match on TV im converted FIFA won me over this year
i just hope EA continues to build on it instead of going back to the arcade way of previous games
Now with PES coming to Wii, there is no dispute that PES on WII is the best. Go to Wii.com to find out more.razu_gamer
Doubt it. I don't see how flailing a Wii remote about will improve the gameplay and I don't think the Wiimote has enough buttons to do a footy game well. The best version apparently (though it pains me to say it) is the PS2 version of 2008. If I were you, I'd stick to Pro Evo 6 on the PS2 (or Xbox 360 if you couldn't care less about editing or master league)

With a name like donwoogie its hard to reply back. Before you spew out comments like that go a do some research. Go and actually visit Wii.com and see what the developers are saying. Before uttering words like "flailing" go read up on a game you ignorant gamer.

With a name like Razu I would've stopped at the registration page..............
I admit failing may have been to harsh a term. Waggling seems more adept to the situation. In terms of playing Pro Evo, the controls seem to lack the viceral feel of actually playing a football game. With just pointing where to dribble the ball to, I imagine getting any tight ball control will be extremely difficult and tackling will probably prove to be a chore.......
Football? Oh, you mean Soccer.

Heh, one thing I don't get is why on earth call the NFL "Football". You hold the damn ball in your hands! And kick it only a few times per match. It should be called "Footoval" or "Handoval".... 'Cause it isn't round in shape ( which a ball is).
K, enought of the off-topicness of that above. I would say that FIFA 08 is actually pretty good, but IMO FIFA has gone downhill gameplay wise, since FIFA 2001.

Acording to 6,200,000,000 people on this planet it is football.....Acording to around 380,000,000 it is soccor.
So I belive we should call American football something else. Theres also the fact the English version of football is older than American football.

No both words are wrong. The devs even say, the Wii version is the version that simulates football much better. At one point they say neither standard controller version or Wii version is better, but obviously they say that to not halt sales of the other versions.
the Wii version will ensure proper minded Footy fans who know a lot about football are the top togs but at the same time not leaving out standard gamers.
Sorry mate, PES is the new way football is meant to be played. You don't just get a spot on Wii.com without be something awesome.

Well, with the very very small number of good third party games on the Wii, any new popular third party game will get a top spot on it no matter how bad the game...........
