They are probably judging from the demo... but it's still stupid.

lol. Take a look at the spread of numbers. About half 10s and half 1s. And no, it's not even out in Japan yet. In fact, I don't even think they've released a release date yet. It's still Q4 2009 for now.

I really hope reviewers won't get blinded by the fact that it's a Final Fantasy game and give it really good reviews because of it. Too many games go that way, like GTA, FF12, Zelda, CoD, etc.

Notice it doesn't have any reviews for the X-Box 360 version...

But yeah, it is very stupid when the game isn't even out yet.

I find that Gamefaqs is a very nice place to get an impression of a game provided you take the time to read a few reviews before making up your mind. It's certainly more accurate than going by the popular gaming sites.

Obviously you need to apply common sense.

I guess it makes people feel better about not being able to appreciate such a high quality game? I'm not sure I understand Final Fantasy hate, but people sure do go out of their way to put it down.

IMO, a true gamer wouldn't wish for a game to flop as it would mean one less game he/she wouldn't enjoy. I mean, you don't go on life thinking "Hell yes, I hope the next girl I meet is fugly so I don't try hitting on her!" I bet you only wanna meet hot babes.

Because Square Enix take 2nd place for biggest douchebag developers/publishers next to Activision in first. I'd list a bunch of reasons but I don't feel like it.

I'm getting FF13 because it's FF13 but I really hope it fails because SE is a wreck right now and needs a re-tooling.

BTW for the people bashing the person who said that, it's the same reason people want Modern Warfare 2 will flop, the game will be great but Activision sucks, and so does SE.

Sadly, this same thing happened to Dragonquest IX. People flooded Amazon's Japanese site with negative reviews during the launch weekend. Which is kinda weird when you consider DQ IX got a 40/40 review fromFamitsu.

From the looks of it, FF XIII is getting the same treatment, only far worse..

It got intense during the launch weekend but there were people that gave it bad reviews before it came out, I went onto the Japanese Amazon website and saw the dates. I should have made that point clearer.

I should also note that DQ IX had some heavy backlash from fans because of changes to the core DQ mechanics and the fact that it came out on the DS instead of the PS3 or Wii.

DQ IX was like FF XIII in the fact that people were ripping it apart well before its release date because of the changes it made to the series or the fact that Square Enix opted to put it on the DS.

Were they reviewing the 360 version?

TC you do know the game isn't even out yet not even in Japan.

Which was perfectly reasonable because

1. Nintendo had denied them usage of higher capacity cartridges during the SNES era

2. Nintendo wasn't going to use CD roms which were superior to the cartridge

3. Nintendo continued to charge higher licensing fees than their comptetor's (a practice dating back to the SNES and perhaps even the NES) with their reasoning being "because we are Nintendo."
