Yeah we know.. we know.. but the reason isn't disc space, you have to store signifigantly more on BD disks to make up for the 2x drive speed so that the blu-ray can find data faster, thats why PS3 games are being 18-25 gig and current PC and 360 games are 3-9 gig range on DVD9.AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!

why do lemmings always "hope" MGS and FF to be on the 360? if they want to play it so bad, just get a playstation dude.

Exactly. Thats what I don't understand about fanboys
Just found this Link.not that I give a **** about final fantasy, but there is always the possibility of bringing it over on multiple discs, it's not as if that's an impossibility. If the sales of the PS3 don't improve, they could indeed come to the conclusion that making it multiplatform would be less of a risk. The bottom line is that nothing's final without an exclusivity deal between sony and square enix.
Go down to the develpoment part, where it says, and I quote
"Most of the development was begun on the Playstation 2, but was later migrated onto the Playstation 3 when the development team determined that a SINGLE DVD and the Playstation 2's hardware wouldn't suffice the storage and visual requirements. Most of the development was restarted on the Playstation 3"
Now I know that some of you will come with the " put it across several discs" agrument, but what they are saying here is that the engine and the data needed to run the game doesn't fit on a DVD. For a multi disc game you still need to have the game engine and the basic stuff on each disc.

Final Fantasy 13 is one of the important reasons that will make me buy a PS3zidan4000basically the only game 360 rules
[QUOTE="Game13a13y"]umm....maybe because they don't want to have to spend another $500-600 to buy another console just to play one game? QFT MS is making it mandatory to use the Hard drive with that said using compression techniques they could fit the game on the 360.why do lemmings always "hope" MGS and FF to be on the 360? if they want to play it so bad, just get a playstation dude.

see im useing lemming responce
because these are the ONLY strong points of the PS3 right now, so how bad would the PS3 be if it lost those EXACT exclusives?why do lemmings always "hope" MGS and FF to be on the 360? if they want to play it so bad, just get a playstation dude.

Not really in FF case, unless it is like Oblivion, which is not. They just have to put 1/3 of the world in each of the 2 first dvd's, and the HD videos, then load the whole world in a 3rd dvd that will hold far less videos near the end of the game. No big deal.
Noone suggest FF13 would come to 360 anyway, but if they wanted to make it, i think they could easilly do so
BTW, FF7-8-9 were on 3-4 disks each, if what you said was true, those games could never be done on PS1, still they did get made, and were some of the best in the series

hm... let me think... which one a normal gamer would rather enjoy, the ownage, or ... hm...me ... think.... the games?
I knew this. I honestly could care less about S-E, who I want to see more of on the 360 is Level-5.Tulak_HordIf you want Level 5 you need a PS3 too. Most of their games are published by Sony. ex. Dark Cloud, Jeane Arc, Rogue Galaxy, and White Knight.
Hold on a second...
No one has said anything about wanting FFXIII to come to the 360, this thread wasn't even made by a 360 fan. Yet 360 owners are apparently begging for it to come to their system?
Everyone knows FFXIII won't come, and the only reason some 360 owners want MGS4 to come is because there have been rumors of a port!
You idiots really are quick to make something out of nothing, aren't you.
Raidea
Still FF13 could 100% be done on 360
Hmm lets see FF7...4 cds? FF8...4cds? oh and then there was FF9 also multiple cds...well isnt that weird. I remember playing those games and enjoying myslef...isnt that odd? And here I thought getting up to switch dvds after 40h of play meant the end of the world.rzepakFFVII was 3 disks...just so u know....
just who said FF13 would be heading to the 360 in the first place :?lawlessxPeople made the assumption that because Square licensed UE3, the game would go to the 360. I know, brilliant deduction.

I never said the system couldn't run the game, but when the game engine would take up most of the dvd disc there wouldn't be mutch space left for the game. You could offcourse install the game engine onto the HDD, which the PS3 has standar, but the 360 hasn't.[QUOTE="tricyclon123"][QUOTE="Raidea"]Hold on a second...

BTW engines do not take up space on disk, models / textures and videos do that
You probably do not know that FF7-8-9 were on 4 disks each, and Blue Dragon in 3 !!!
Here is what I got from that:
"Sony gave us alot of money to make up total B.S. about why games won't fit on DVDs because they want to make their precious Blu-Ray look better, and we happily agreed so here goes: FF13 will not work on DVDs"
Oh well, there hasn't been a good FF since 8 so they can keep their overhyped FF franchise, it doesn't matter I dont think gates is gonna lose any sleep over this.
ParellelSpider
It is still the most wanted next gen game in Japan, MS should loose all sleep over that
Just found this Link.A lot of people get confused on what an engine actually is - it's okay, but to falsely believe that the engine is some piece of software that takes up more than 9gb of disc space in the final product, and then pass this off as the truth - is unacceptable. An "engine" - such as the White Engine used in FF XIII - refers to both the software development tools and the pre-built code for making things like AI, graphics, and physics easier. However, the code for something like a physics engine isn't constantly streaming off a disc - the PS3 only has 256mb of general use ram - do you honestly believe some 12gigs of data have to be streamed in, just to calculate a few lighting effects? The reason the Blu-Ray disc is useful for Square Enix is that Final Fantasy games have a lot of pre-rendered video - all that extra storage space makes it easier for them to hold the video, without having to split the game across multiple discs. That's it. If you don't believe me though - I'd take a good look at Square Enix's future plans to use the Unreal Engine 3 - an engine that has been *proven* to run on Xbox 360. FF XIII will likely be one of the last games built on the White Engine, as Square Enix moves to Unreal Engine 3 in 2008. I'm sure the big concern with the PS2 was more that the graphical power was not suited to a multi-million dollar project like FF XIII, they didn't want to release a game that took them years of development only to have it come out on an extremely dated platform.
