Final Fantasy 15 Release Date Leaks: June 2016

Now, I want to remind you that:

• The game is already in a beta state
• The game is targeting a Summer release date
• The game is going to get its release date announced in March
• The game is getting a worldwide release

Could we really be playing Final Fantasy 15 just six months from now?

Does this mean P5 is going to get delayed again? ;__;

Nah. In Japan, P5 is big enough to hold its own against FF15, and in the west, its release is probably going to be staggered by a few months anyway, meaning it will launch a comfortable few months after FF15 has launched.

It's coming to Xbox One too, yes? Multiplats can't win you victory, unless they're Bayonetta/Skyrim level bad on one console.

You would have though going multiplat would have sped up the process

I'm guess there'll be a few month delay between the Japanese release and the worldwide release. Figure same for Persona 5. Gonna be interesting how these will perform in Japan and outside Japan if they go toe-to-toe. No doubt FFXV will perform better overall, but it'll be interesting to see how much of a fight Persona 5 can bring to steal some of its thunder.

@lamprey263: FF15 has already been confirmed for a simultaneous worldwide date, and we know Persona 5 isn't releasing everywhere at once (it's supposed to launch in North America 'shortly after' its launch in Japan, Europe perhaps even later). So there won't be any head to head, not in the west, at least.

In Japan? Hell yeah, there'll be a clash. I imagine FF15 wins that too, but P5 puts up a hell of a fight, especially since in Japan, P5 is on two viable platforms, FF15 is only on one.

Why is your main party such a sausage fest in this game? It's weird.

I need to see more before I pass judgement, but I didn't care for FF13 or FF13x2,.

Eh, does it matter? Maybe the story they want to tell entailed an all male cast. Let's wait till the game is actually out and we have the full picture before we cast judgement, that's all I'm saying. I'll admit it rubs me off a bit weird too, but I mean, like I said, maybe it makes sense once we play the game.

That's true and it's not a gamebreaker by any means, but one of the appealing things about JRPGs is the mixed gender cast.

Looks like a placeholder date - June 1 is a Wednesday, not a traditional release day of the week. Plus it's too squarely on a date at the beginning of the month. But there is perhaps some credibility to the timeframe; S-E has been actively exploring exactly when and how to release FFXV and the devs have been loose-lipped about the design being more or less at completion.

Somewhere in the June-August range sounds appropriate to me. Pulling a pre-holiday release is probably in this game's best interest, avoiding the blockbuster releases that are sure to arrive in October + November. Something similar to what MGSV managed.

Absolutely- and especially after how progressive the last few Persona games have been with their casts, having an all white, all male cast is a bit weird to me too. But hey, maybe the game is set in a kingdom where males and females can't mingle before marriage under any circumstances, for example. It might be a story thing, it might be justified in the game somehow.

In any case, not too long (hopefully) before we know for sure!

Your title suggests we've been able to play this game for 6th months already and didn't realize it.

Anywho, the game is set to be another weak entry in the franchise considering the demo they released. It looks as thought there are plenty of stronger JRPGs to choose from next year.

Well in FF X-2 it was all women so it doesn't really matter if in FF XV it's all men.

Interesting that the release date will fall in the days before E3.

They better not be charging full price if these games are really only portions.

Final Fantasy 15 is not the one being sold in portions, that's the 7 Remake. 15 is one whole game, and even 7 is basically being split into three games by narrative. But each game is a full size, full length game, because they are expanding the original content to what they always wanted to begin with.

Anyway, if ff15 comes out before persona, then persona is fucked.

It will still sell well most likely, but hard to believe it's actually coming out soon when they're heading into the tenth year of development (counting all the direction changes, etc). I wonder how well it would have to sell for them to break even at this point? Would breaking even be a reality at this point with all the money spend? Yikes.
