Do you think we'll ever see FFVII on the DS? I don't want a remake of that- just give me a straight port.musicalmacI'd hate to see a FF remake PERIOD. I'm not a fan of remaking games that people have already played, and FF7 is onne of the most important RPGs ever made so most preople have played it. Even if you haven't you can just go out and get it for the PS2/PS1

But I want to take FFVII with me. I don't have a PS2 or a PS1. There are more out there like me, too. I promise ;)

First Final Fantasy Dissidia Details
Dissidia seems like it could be the perfect way to celebrate the Final Fantasy 20th anniversary, as it brings together characters from past entries. Jump offers a look at just two members of the cast. Making an appearance from Final Fantasy I is Warrior of Light. From Final Fantasy IX comes Zidane Tribal. Jump also reveals that Kuja, one of the villains from FFIX, will make an appearance.
Square Enix originally described Dissidia as a Progressive Action game. We're still not sure what the progressive part means, but the action part of the equation is pretty clear. The game features close-range combat on a 3D battle field, complete with jumping and special skills.

I think they could find a way if they wanted to. I just know FFVII is the bread and butter FF game, and is probably the most popular. That's why I want it!Â
I don't mind remakes. I hope they make them all the way up to IX :)

Hell yeah! Too right, I love FF and want to expand my collection!Â

1) There would be graphical improvement. SE's 3D DS work murders PS1 graphics.
2) FFIII remake has cut-scenes. FFIV remake will probably have them as well. Why not FFVII?
Remember that they can go to two carts if needed.Â

FFVI is the quintessential Final Fantasy. FFVII only introduced bishies with long hair and big "I'm overcompensating for something" katanas. :P[QUOTE="musicalmac"]They wouldn't remake FFVII for the DS; there would be no graphical improvement, and we'd lose the cutscenes.[QUOTE="mjarantilla"][QUOTE="musicalmac"]Do you think we'll ever see FFVII on the DS? You and me both but I never played 4 and now I will in better graphics...So I am happy and I am sure their are many like me
That's beside the point. You can just get the GBA version. Would your rather not play something you cant already play in some form. The differences in this version will be negligible at best and will make FF4 advance owners feel like they've been screwedI hate all this milkage by square-enix now... How many times are they going to remake there FFs? They probably know they can't make good games anymore, so they just remake all there older games. I hope mistwalker does well, and square-enix goes backrupt one day :| mind you mistwalker would probably then start milking all there older games then.Dahaka-UKIt's totally ridiculous. I wouldn't mind as much if it was a game we hadnt seen in a while but we just had an updated version of this last year. I still cant understand why they dont just remake some of their unreleased games instead, it's just dumb
I recall reading an article a couple days ago that said they were doing remakes to give some new members some experience before making new games I think...but don't take my word for it. Also you should know all companies are the same...
It's all about the benjamins.

No, I prefer real characters with real relationships instead of stereotypical caricatures whose primary relationships to one another depend entirely on a sequence of wholly coincidental events. Seriously, have you never played Final Fantasy VI? Compared to FFVI, Final Fantasy VII and its successors (except for FFXII) are like Dungeons and Dragons campaigns turned into video games, whereas Final Fantasy VI (aka THE MASTERPIECE) is an epic fantasy novel.[QUOTE="hotdaisy18"][QUOTE="mjarantilla"][QUOTE="musicalmac"]They wouldn't remake FFVII for the DS; there would be no graphical improvement, and we'd lose the cutscenes.[QUOTE="mjarantilla"][QUOTE="musicalmac"]Do you think we'll ever see FFVII on the DS? There's alot of quality japanese stuff that didnt make it here and i'd like to see that stuff first

Square needs to take a step away from the whole Final Fantasy Series, and focus on making more original games.

Every main series FF game is original, except for the summons and some side characters (like Cid).Square needs to take a step away from the whole Final Fantasy Series, and focus on making more original games.

Those aren't REAL Final Fantasy fans. They're just "new kids."Good for DS owners...I'd rather have a VI remake than any other FF game

And there also remaking FF I & II for PSP, even though my EB has like 10 coppies at $9.99.... and they'll sell the new remake for $50+...Hyper-ChickenNo more than $40 for the DS remakes.

"The remake will utilise the engine used in the recently released Final Fantasy III for the DS. The original creators of Final Fantasy IV are supporting the DS remake, and will apparently feature much more than spiffy new 3D graphics."

From the recent scans of this game, Square is doing a good job of that"The remake will utilise the engine used in the recently released Final Fantasy III for the DS.
