Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PS exclucivity has ended - Do you care?

It would appear the window of exclusivity has ended for squares FF7 Rebirth on PS5. The game has been recieved well enough, though from all sources it's been reported that the game has underperformed in sales... Do you think we will see a ported copy of the game on other platforms? Pc certainly I'd imagine...

Are you happy that square can now finally recoup expenses and make profit on their game or do you think PS5 should hang on to it despite lackluster sales because it scores you feel good points? Or.... Do you just not care....? It's the middle chapter of a jrpg you may not give two cents about.

I really liked Remake but Rebirth is a dud for me, I only tried the demo but that was enough.

To elaborate I also felt 16 fell flat and I did purchase that game yet I probably spent about the same amount of time in that as I did the FFRebirth demo.

I do not like or agree with the all action direction they've taken with their series chasing the west and abandoning the turn-based strategy gameplay I loved about JRPGS so long.

If nothing else Baulder's Gate 3 proved you can have amazing game in the current landscape with 100% turn based mechanics and have it be successful.

Having more players won't change or improve the new direction they've committed to, they'll find out soon enough.

Amazing game, and I’m happy with the direction they went. 150 hours of playtime! As for TC’s lack of source for the game not being profitable.. well that’s just that, fake news lol. Will it come to PC? Sure, they’ve been saying that. Have fun, PC Gamers!

Incredible game as one of the top FF game ever. The only thing Square fumbled was the ending which although I understand why they do it, its such a poor ending and part 3 needs to pick up strong. Also please let zack die for sake dude outlived his usefulness.

i played Remake on PC and i'll likely pick up Rebirth when it releases on Steam..

beyond the nostalgia, i had a decent time with Remake.. they dropped the ball dragging these games out in separate parts though in my opinion..

I am someone with no nostalgic value in the game and so to me it looks like a massive production with lots of fan service... For me though, I'd have maybe been interested in something contained within a single game.

I'm basing it on projections of 2 million + being sold at 70 dollars... Meaning they've taken in roughly 140 million on the project. I do not have data on how much the game cost to make, but similarly ambitious titles can cost much more to develop.... Again this is speculation. What I am attempting to convey is whether square is wanting to sell their game to a much larger pool of gamers that can undoubtedly recoup any expenses and increase profit, if they haven't achieved it already.

Final Fantasy. The game I waste money on to play only an hour or two, only to be reminded that I will never get into this series. Now the MMORPG A Realm Reborn is another story. :3

The game not posting a profit is really ruffling feathers. It is not anyone's fault besides Sony fannies for not buying games. Well, at least they bought Stellar Blade.🤭

Ah, yes. Like Tifa and Areith wearing bikini's. LOL!!!!!!! Not sure if that was actually in the original game since I never beat FF7 on the PS1.

It’s the best game that I have ever played. Never thought that a game would come along and dethrone the mighty Chrono Trigger but here we are. Great to see that more people will soon have a chance to play this amazing game. Multi platform for the win.

Nah I'm more excited for that rumored RDR 1 port to PC.

I haven't cared about exclusives since the Sega Genesis vs Super Nintendo days. Sonic made Sega unique, and Mario made Nintendo unique. But nowadays I just play games I like. I have played many games without even knowing whether they were exclusives or not.

@kvallyx: FF7rebirth is way better imo. FF16 is the first FF game i completed without dying. Still enjoyed it but rebirth had way more challenges and stuff to do.

Yay. Hopefully a PC version soon. But not too soon as I have too many games to play. Also hopefully it's a better port (Seriously Square: Vsync).

I enjoyed remake overall. The additions to the story just seem a bit needless mostly (though maybe it will all click when the trilogy is actually done). But when they stick to the base material it works quite well. Combat was also fun.

I enjoyed and a lot of PC users will too. It deserved to sell a lot more than it did.

It was a game free from any micro-transactions (that I could see anyway). It was a game made with a lot of care and a lot of love from the developers. It is kind of fun to have the crazy world of Numora.

The only mistake that Square Enix made with this was keeping it exclusive to just the PS5.

It may be time to stop trashing games just because it doesn't gel with you subjectively - something we all - including me - are guilty of - or it doesn't appear on your console of choice.

I mean I have zero interest in HellDivers but from what I hear it is a good game that a lot of people enjoy playing. Save the ire for the real clunkers like Suicide Squad that was made for the totally wrong reasons.

I played Remake because it was on PS Plus. It was fine. I hated all of the meta fate ghost stuff, that just highlighted how lame the writing was, and everything felt padded out, and it didn't earn its ending in any way...but I enjoyed it?

I have no real interest in playing Rebirth, because I don't like the writing team behind the remake project. Maybe I'll pick up the full trilogy when they're cheap one day. Maybe not.

On the plus side, once they're done with FF7R, I'd actually like then to focus on making a two-part remake to FF6. That's a game that needs more love from younger audiences, and there's more than enough content and story to make it work across two games.

There is a 3rd game in the works. You can bet it will be exclusive to PS5

Will probably pick up on PC, just for the actual 4k/120 on my PC/TV. The game had many issues, including the ending, but was overall a good play.
