A remake would be awesome, especially if it's a total remake instead of a remix.

I feel that FFVII was held back a bit by technology, and a remake on new hardware would be a huge improvement.

What a game like FF7 really needs is voice acting. Voice acting adds emotion to the dialogue of games. With the amount of dialogue that FF7 has, voice acting is a must.

A graphical update would require voice overs. Voice overs would require a rewrite and restructuting. Rewritings and voice over would require a huge portion of shortening, dumbing-down and making sequences that were interactive before into badly photographed cutscenes. Thank you, but no thank you. Get this game onto the DS where it belongs, but apart from that:

I saw this coming sooner or later. Square can make a whole load of money with a remake.

No matter what SE says, or anyone says. There -will- be a FFVII remake. The whole point of a business, is money, and to be quite frank, FFVII remake is quite possibly one of the biggest cash cows that SE have. They will, 100%, remake it. Now, the question is, on what system, and when? Is it this gen, or the next? Will it be a handheld "remake" [like CT DS] or an actual remake on a current gen or next gen system. Considering the recent push of FFVII on PSN, it stands to reason to believe it'll be on a Playstation system, of some sort. PSPGo wouldn't be out of the question, considering the PSP CC ending, however, it could just as easily be PS3, or even PS4/PSP2. After that, it is anyones guess. But yea, over all, the idea of whether they're going to make it or not? It isn't "if" it is "when"jonnyt61

-Square announces that there are currently no plans for a remake (Likely)

-Square announces that a remake has been in development for some time, and that they didnt want to announce it to early (Unlikely)

Oh, they're doing it. No reason not to. It's just a question of when.

They're probably keeping FF XIII and Versus in mind, especially. Don't want to steal attention from those.

I think VII definitely needs to be remade, because it's the most graphically confused game of all time. But I think if they were to remake it they would go so over the top it would make it worse. I don't want VII to look like AC. Part of the charm in VII is actually that it knew when to go all out and it knew when to be more subdued.

The Tactics port is enhanced enough that the game never needs a remake.

I'm all for VI over VII though.

I don't think IX needs a remake because its such a high quality PSX game and already looks and sounds great.

No big surprise. SE will eventually remake all FFs. But I think they are doing it in order so the next remake would be FFV.

No, all Sony did was publish FF7 for the PS1. Eidos published the game for the PC.

A remake would almost certainly be on a Playstation system, but not because Sony owns the rights to the game.

I'm all for it, just provided they don't change too much. I don't want to see AC style battles.
