Hard to say. As a series overall, i'd have to say Final Fantasy.
I hail OOT as the greatest game ever made, but FF6 isn't very far behind. I didn't really enjoy TLOZ or TLOZ2: Links Adventure very much and Wind Waker was kinda disappointing.
I admit I haven't played any FFs past 8 besides 10 for a little bit.

but as long as the gameplay mechanics change (from orcarinas, to masks, to wind control, to shrinking hats) I will keep coming back. I dont need new characters to have a great game.

the MAIN chars are always the same
im pretty sure the final boss of TP is gonna be gannondorf again surprise surprise

he just gets his memory erased in each game and starts a new adventure no, its a different link as in different person.

but its always the SAME character (the guy in the green peter pan outfit with his shield and sword and boomerang) their unrelated but its allways the same i know their different persons

WTF? He doesn't get his memory erased.
Consider Zelda: Wind Waker. It's not even the same person. It's just some kid that happens to get tied up in a situation involving Gannondorf.

just nintendo makes the SAME character (and erases his memory...............as in it seems the same guy but it isnt) which makes it seem like he forgot about the other adventures and sticks him in a new adventure
I, for one, don't care that much about the story of a game. Books and movies are much better at telling stories than games are. Games are mostly about immediate satisfaction. And what gives us (or at least me) immediate satisfaction? Action. I would much rather shoot gelatinous scum than engross myself in the story of how that gelatinous scum came about. Now, I believe there is a balance between the two. A game is not as good as it could be without a good story, but a game is also not as good as it could be without good action. Thus, my choice is Zelda. Zelda, to me is the perfect blend of story-telling and heroism. Zelda is my favorite franchise to date, and I would be surprised if another could take its place on the top of my list.
