final fantasy x the best final fantasy?????

Final Fantasy VIII is my favourite followed by X and then FFVII

8 was my favorite.

FFX was crap compared to 7,8,9. How can you say 7 was overated when its theme/setting was badass, the characters were badass, the story was awsome, the soundtrack is pretty much a PERFECT 10/10 and the materia battle system IMO is the best out of all final fantasies? ever since square SOFT combined with ENIX, to make square enix, they have been pumping out crap like ff12 or ff11. ffx was o.k, but had a stupid worthless ending. FF's are never the same anymore, they are moving towards freaking japanese manga crap now. ff9 was the last ff to use the good old final fantasy recipe.e011234

I have a hard time saying FFX was any good... what was so good about it?

Ten is great, but doesnt compare to 7,8 or 9 IMO.

I still have alot of love for FF tactics and Xenogears too!

See this guys likes, nearly everyone who played ff7 loves the story, the entire internet loves the story, back in 1997 when it came out, the entire gaming world went crazy, it was rated the best ff ever made, sephiroth was rated the most badass villian of all time, the story of ff7 is more complex and deeper than any of the other ff's, its was top in the list of 'best games ever made'. Just the whole perfect atmosphere of the theme of ff7 made me crazy and drooling over that game. And that was many years ago. And compared to the crap like ff12 or 11, the original ff's (1 to 9, mainly 7 to 9), the new ones are crap. 

Cant even believe you think ff7, the one with the best everything is crap...its the best ff and thats the reason why ff7 is the only ff to have so many extensions like crisis core, a anime, a movie, a book and more... cos ppl wanted MORE.

And you cant even say a thing about the soundtrack, cos the soundtrack is perfect. Same with ff8.

My favourites are 4,7,8,9,10 and 12

Although 10 would be at the bottom of that list.

I mean 7 was good but it was overated because it was basically every 1s first amazing rpg so they held it close to there hearts,kinda like sex you always remember your first time. claywalker21

They all have their perks to me, and all are so good tht they could each be considered a favorite of mine.

Final Fantasy VII was epic as my first RPG I ever beat. The overall story amd scope was grand, and I want to go bac and play it with all my RPG knowledge now but there are just too many other RPGs that I need to play.

Final Fantasy XII was so addicting due to it's great gameplay. My only flaw for it is that it's story wasn't on as personal level as I would have liked it to be.

Final Fantasy X is beautiful. The atmosphere, the story, the characters, all came together to create this beautiful game that if released with today's technology and care for Voice Acting, would probably be the most beautiful game released. The gameplay was pretty fun, and it was a very memorable journey.

Final Fantasy IX I have yet to beat but I plan to beat it this break. The game is so charming and deep, a hidden gem of the Final Fantasies. Gameplay is great, the characters all are characters we haven't seen much of in a Final Fantasy, very good.

Final Fantasy IV is a lot of fun, but I have yet to beat it. Love the story so far.

Final Fantasy VI I really want to beat, but I find it so difficult to play the Final Fantasies in the 2D way. I don't know why it is. So I'll probably wait for the 3D remake on DS if there is one.

And I really want to play Final Fantasy VIII, but I am waiting till I beat Final Fantasy IX. The game should be beautiful though.

They all have such great potential to be my favorite Final Fantasy, but they are all so different in story, atmosphere, and gameplay that it almost seems wrong to choose. But I will say this about Final Fantasy X:

If Square Enix were to remake any other title aside from Final Fantasy VII, I would want them to remake Final Fantasy X with the game's graphics being similar to all the CGI in the original, and hire some of the best voice-actors in the business. That would be a beautiful game.

Rejoice! I am glad to find other fans of 8. I enjoyed it greatly, I admit I can see how some would get turned off by the draw and junction system. I did not think it was to bad once you got the hang of it tho.

I started with FF7 but my favorite would have to be FF6. FF7 was just too convoluted, the characters were genuinely uninteresting, the story was lackluster (as though the creators watched Akira and Blade Runner a few too many hundred times before writing it) and the translation was god-awful. IMO:

FF6 > FF4 > FFT > FF5 > FF9 > FFX > FFX-2 > FF7 > FF8

I still have yet to play FF1, 2, 3, or 12.

Started with 8.. though I understand the flaws of the GFs and micromanaged Magic system..

I enjoyed 8's story more than 7 though.. at least at the time of playing it.. Materia was simply fun though I can't deny.. I just hate that I beat ff7 unexpectedly

6 was all around great, probably the best but I can't say because I never beat it, 5 was refreshing to go back and play.. I'm also stuck in ff4 for ds but I'm close to done

9 was fun at the time but had the worst characters, story, features etc..

10 sucked hard.. I can understand liking it , but this was such a linear turd that it took me 3 yrs to dredge through beating it

I actually had more fun with 10-2 but that game became too easy so I never finished it

and I skipped on 11 and 12.. at least 13 appeals to me

This is really hard for me to say because there are some great FF moments.. but Vagrant Story is just so much more awesome and sadly I never finished it :( still looking for that memory card but I gave up because I lost progress or something then forgot where I was.. I know I treasure it more than FF because I still have it as oppose to ff7 or 8 which I just got ripped off for recently

It may not be the best but I did enjoy X, the sphere grid system was fresh and a nice change from the level grinding, I like to max out my characters in RPG and this one made sure your characters could be all rounders in the end as well as being able to use you summons which were cool except for those 3 sisters, huge disappointment.
