Final Fantasy XII was Square's best game...

since Final Fantasy VI. The only other game that competes is Vagrant Story. Everything else between VI and XII was totally inferior to those games.

No, sorry. I liked FF12 and think it gets a bad rap. I LOVED the changes they made to the gameplay for the most part and the story was excellent. But as you point out, Vagrant Story was also great, FF6, I still love FF8 and 9, and The FF-Tactics games are always a great buy.

But there is also Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve, Kingdom Hearts, etc.

im currently playing through 12 (about to go to a kings tomb) and....its not brilliant. the game is just not grabbing me really and pushing on is becoming more difficult (in terms of mustering up the will). and this is not a re-play this is my first go. so far the story is fairly un-interesting imho and the characters are pretty hollow. im hoping that this is still early days (i think im about 10 hours in) and that something really interesting kicks in.

so far 7 is still my fav FF game. 8 was rubbish though. 3 was good but required a crap load of grinding (that was the DS remake version) which i dont like doing. i havent played 1 and 2. nor 4. i think i played 5 and 6 but i dont remember them (is 6 the one where u start off in these battle suits attacking a village? or am i thinking of something else completly?). i also havent played 9 or finished 10.

but yeah...so fat the 2 best things to come out of square are FF7 and chrono trigger imho.

It's funny to see people argue this, like they have any solid reasoning why their personal favorite is better than someone elses. XII happens to be my personal favorite

Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts II disagree. FFXII is a good game but there were a few games that came out between FFVI and FFXII from SE that are better. Wanderer5

The only thing I like about FFXII more then FFX was the battle system, but I like FFX soundtrack more, the battle system was still good, and it has a way better story then FFXII.

I didn't enjoy 6. 4 was excellent, but 6 was too drawn out for me. I prefered 7 to 6 too.
