It sure took time, but one of the most sucessful and famous franchises in the world is back folks.. Final fantasy XIII is coming out in 2 weeks in Japan. Even tough its only the japanese release, many people are importing and im sure we will get an idea of the quality of the game, and also many reviews of it.

The following weeks will be full with FF13 news. And lets see how popular FF is and if it can hold on the first page for 2 weeks. Post every news here so we dont have to create a topic for each one.

Final Fantasy XIII is a console role-playing game being developed by Square Enix for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is due for release on PlayStation 3 in Japan on December 17, 2009 and on both consoles in PAL regions and North America on March 9, 2010. First appearing at the 2006 E3, the game features both futuristic and natural elements; it is set between a land of wilderness and the high-tech world above it. Final Fantasy XIII is the flagship title of the Fabula Nova Crystallis collection of Final Fantasy games. It uses a new engine ( Crystal Tools )built for the next gen consoles that makes ports easier to do.

The Plot

"Cocoon - a utopia in the sky.

Its inhabitants believed their world a paradise.

Under the Sanctum's rule, Cocoon had long known peace and prosperity.

Mankind was blessed by its protectors, the benevolent fal'Cie, and believed that tranquil days would continue forever.

Their tranquility was shattered with the discovery of one hostile fal'Cie.

The moment that fal'Cie from Pulse - the feared and detested lowerworld - awoke from its slumber, peace on Cocoon came to an end.

The fal'Cie curse humans, turning them into magic-wielding servants.

They become l'Cie - chosen of the fal'Cie.

Those branded with the mark of a l'Cie carry the burden of either fulfilling their Focus or facing a fate harsher than death itself.

A prayer for redemption.

A wish to protect the world.

A promise to challenge destiny.

After thirteen days of fates intertwined, the battle begins."

Does Gamespot review games that come out in Japan only? I know they have a Gamespot UK, but does GS actually review Japan games?

Can't wait for this game along with Tales of Graces.

There won't be any scores from North American reviewers until march, but I could easily call 36-40 out of 40 on Famitsu. :D

AAA-will it deserve it? likely not i've not seen a final fantasy deserve its score in a long time, but it will get it because its an established franchise, it will look good, and reviewers are sheep that follow the hype around established big franchises and because they want viewers and bad scores piss users off.

I predict that next week when Famitsu reviews this game, it will become the fifth and last game this year to receive 40/40. I strongly believe this will happen but will not be disappointed if it does not score 40/40. However, I will be disappointed if its scores less than 39/40.nintendo-wins

AAAA in my book. But realistically probably will be AAA.

They'd have to really screw up to not get AAA. It's not like there's a lot of other mainstream JRPGs this gen.

I am predictating an AAA score for this game on gamespot, but I really would not be all that surprise if gamespot does give it a lower score. I really can't wait for this game, since I have throughly enjoyed most of the final fantasy games in the past. You should of reserved some space, so that way you could of went back to it later and edit in the missing informations

I've gotta try my best to not totally spoil the game for myself by watching spoilers. It's gonna be hard for the next 3 months or so.
