Final Fantasy XIII on 360 or PS3

I was just bored and thought I would start this, I know its been done to death but one more wont hurt.

So what system will you buy it for?

I personally will buy it for the PS3 because it was the original system it was developed for. Another reason is that Square said that they will make the PS3 version first and then port it to the 360, and completely maximize the capabilities of both consoles, and even 360 fans know that the PS3s true potential is far more superior then the 360 (sorry fanboys, criticize me if you want).

Another question that still remains is if there will be downloadable content, and if there is, what will it be? will it be exclusve to a system? and finally, will it be worth it?

Forget "true potential", it's gonna be the same game on both machines. I'll be getting for 360 cos I like the controller and achievements.locopatho

Lol, still talking about the true potential of the PS3. I thought I heard that was a load of crap somewhere around. I think it went something like the 360's video memory is superior to more processors. You can callculate all you like, in the end you have to run 3d graphics, not compute numbers.

Prove me wrong, I don't care, this is just the way I understand it with my limited knowledge.

Getting it for the ps3. I can't shake the feeling that it'll somehow be better.

Probably because of all the other ff's since VII but even if they're identical, I'll buy it for the ps3 out of good old FF habit.

Hehe. I've always considered purchasing a Playstation 3 for Versus and Final Fantasy XIII. But the White Engine, now called Crystal Tools, is a multiplatform 3D engine. Wada told Gamespot after the announcement of Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360(the very same day) that the 360 can use all the features of Crystal Tools. Afterwards he declared that nothing would change from the port(let's hope so). As far as trophies and achievements my friend; there currently no plans(more so for the Xbox 360).

If you're wondering why SE uses the Unreal Engine on the Xbox 360 rather then Crystal Tools is because their decision to scrap any future use of their custom 3D engine entirely after they complete Versus and FFXIII(which I think sucks). That's one reason why they licensed out UE saying that Crystal Tools was too complicated to develop on the PS3 and costly.

But considering that the Wii can use Crystal Tools to a extent, I am going to reserve my judgement. I've been a Final Fantasy fan for a long time and always planned on purchase a PS3 with FFXIII. Now I have a alternative choice, but I rather see the reviews when they come out.

I am getting it on the 360

I'm getting it for PS3, even if i did have the option to get it on 360. Almost everything will be the same, trophies/achievements, I doubt this will have any heavy focus on online so i'm discounting that. And installs vs. disk swapping cancel each other out. However I prefer the PS3 controller... and it would look good next to my versus case, when that gets released.Angry_PolarBear

will depend on just how the both versions compare. sqaure enix has said that they're reaching to make both versions simaliar.

so ill just wait and see.

Do people realized that SE has released multiple press releases STATING that they prefer to work with 360 hardware because its easier to program? So just from that we'll most likely see two equaivelent version if not a slightly superior 360 version. But then again I dont have a crystal ball so dont quote me. IshmaelSonata
