So it's a modified FFXII system. I did enjoy the system, but at the same time, I think I'll skip on XIII. Hate the artstyle.

But yeah i cant wait for the new FF. Ive been playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 lately on DS and also FF7 on ps1, to get ready for the new one!!!

I'm so glad it'll be similar to FFXII's battle system. imo it's the best battle system out there for JRPGs.

Now if it has a better cast of characters and story than XII, this will be a real advance for the series.

Though the price is a ****ing ripoff.

I dont know what to think about this game, dont want to be too hyped or i might be let down.. I guess we'll see.

Just read it.

Already sounds a lot better than XII. :P

The only relation it has to FF12's combat is that it's realtime and you can see the enemies on screen other than that it sounds completely different as there is no mention of a gambits system and no MP bar.

This is sort of like the "Active Time Battle" system we saw up until Final Fantasy IX, but unlike before, commands can be executed even if the time gauge isn't complete full.

Seems like a much improved version of FFX-2 and FFXII. That is one sweet battle system if you ask me.

In reality, you switch over to a battle screen when you come into contact with various "symbols." It's called a symbol-engage system or something like that. So, no, battles are separate, 1UP.

Well, okay you're right. But its not like XII. You can't just walk around and fight things. Battles are separate again.

Okay maybe I was a little to quick to jump on the article but this is innacurate:

99% sure that it wont.

So there's a mix between some FFX-2 and FF12 elements in there. Before I lay down my opinions I need to see a video.

I'm not a fan of turn based games so I'm skeptical I would like this.

damit well thank god i get to try the demo out to see if its worth getting this crappy game that has the same battle system in 12 which i did not like at all

crud. It doesn't seem like there will be free motion, or any form of controlled motion at all. That sucks. It would have been awesome if you could have relatively precise controls over your position relative to your oponents, and it could still be semi turn based ala VP2. The trailer just made the battle system look like craptons of motion was involved, and I was hoping the player could control that to some degree without using menus.

Ripoff, but oh well. I suppose it'll just put some more money into XIII's development.
