Square just released 1080p screenshots for FFXV, now is a good time to compare them instead of using compressed youtube screenshots
@HaloinventedFPS: Witcher all the way bro.
Its not only because of technical perspective , its also the geometry of the world and all the small details every region has over ... FLAT , cold ,with no "personality" at all environments of FF15 ( up till now , we have more to see to be fair i guess ).
Witcher 3 seems way more complex and rich world than FF15 . ... Theres no comparison here imho. I dont care about CGIs or scripted scenes also. Im more into real time , in game footage comparison.
pc version vs ps4 version sure... And talking about open world map FF15 is clearly bigger from the perceptive outside. And let's see how Witcher run well on ps4. Probably low framerate or something in exchange that is missing feature for the pc.
Both look great. If I had to pick one I'd pick Final Fantasy, but they are both visually impressive.

As far as I know FFs open world is filled with a lot less, I mean look at the The Witcher 3 open world it actually looks like an open world that you can be immersed into, FF just seems like empty plains that can't even render all the grass and from what it looks like in that picture with those tusk creatures they used the same model for all the trees in the background.
The Witcher 3 by a long way, the detail, foliage quality and density, diversity of environments, draw distance - remember if you can see it in the Witcher, you can go there, it's not a matte painting or back drop. Ground textures, skin textures, material textures all far better.
Don't get me wrong here, FF15 is good looking game but it's not on the same level as The Witcher 3.
What really counts is game play and we don't know how either will really be until we get to play them.
Well considering that the shots 2, 3 and 4 are prerendered cutscenes, Witcher 3 is better hands down. Wichter 3 screenshots represent real gameplay.
Both look amazing and I will buy both.
It is nice to see Japan bring it again in the graphics side with both FFXV, MGS5 and Bloodborn.
MGS5 is nothing to brag about, it looks like a last gen Xbox game on PC.
You can stop pretending to hate this game, it's coming to PC

Every time I see someone hyping up MGSV's graphics I'm like, are they delusional or just blind? The game is cross-gen and it shows. You look at the PS3 and X360 version and they look nearly the same to the PS4 version but with a slight blur and some missing details that during gameplay you will not even notice.
Overall the game looks insane though. The gameplay and story... It will be GOTY contender without a doubt.
FF15 is no where close to being finished. Who knows if it'll look better or worse when it actually releases.
Witcher 3 easily, some of those shots look like paintings.

It looks nice because Kojima Productions artists don't **** around and it'll probably be the best game of next year, but it's not winning any graphics awards.
The Witcher will have the potential to blow out FFXV in the visual department since PC games scale and the settings can be changed.
Also The Witcher 3 is a full open world and if you can see it you can go there. FFXV has invisible walls everywhere. So it's easier to produce a more "photo" like quality when its not using near as much memory as an open world game.
I love the FF franchise more than almost anything (FFX probably my second favourite game of all time) but The Witcher 3 beats this by a long shot (graphically)
