SF4 was ruined for me long ago by a friend that was the guy who HAD to win every time and if he didn't win then it was our fault for being cheap. He was the one who had the game too.
Both are relatively great games that are good in their own ways, but I am going to say BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is the better of the two games. I enjoyed the experience with BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger more especially with the Drive attack technique that is unique to every characters, and I prefer the art style for this game more.
I wish i could vote but BB has even freaking released here yet. Apparently, we're getting it after the rest of the world gets Super BB.
But judging by the media i've seen of it, i think i would prefer it over SFIV, which was a dissapointment in my eyes.
How funny :) While PC Gamers get BlazBlue Calamity Trigger, Consoles Gamers will get BlazBlue Continuum Shift :PQuick vote Street Fighter IV since Blaz Blue isn't out on PC yet! Consoles can never have a superior game to the PC.
3sFan
Consoles will still have the superior version.
Don't forget that there isn't any PC Release date for Super Street Fighter IV yet.
well i havent played blaze blue yet and street fighter 4 was a huge step back (third strike is still the best in the series IMO)
so for now imma have to say neither
Yeah, there's only twelve characters, but they are all completely different. You also have to remember its a completely new IP. Most rosters in fighting games start small.Since I haven't played BB, I'm going with SFIV.
BTW, didn't BB have a smaller roster??

Yeah, that's a shame... gonna try it some day (I hope)

yea, that true
ive played both i like the sf 4 great game but iam going with bb . i caught me off guard thought it would play like gg but even so i still run ragna
I'd go with SFIV because of the impact its currently creating in the fighting game scene. Its tying communities together right now similar to what starcraft did to south korea, well not that big of an effect but you get the idea. BB has a lot of variety, and I expect it to pick up a lot more heat when the game gets more developed with more characters in the roster, but its not there yet.
Street Fighter. Blazblue is just way to complicated for me. I still don't understand it really. I thought I did for a while then I found out I was being "Cheap", so I gave up lol
SF4. It's funny how people just hate on things due to its popularity. GTA4 does not suck. Neither does Halo 3. And SF4 was a good game.tok1879
How about playing style then? I love characters with rushdown/mixup possibilities. SFIV is too slow. I'd take Guilty Gear/Blazblue over any Street Fighter.

^This. Street Fighter is a great series, but after playing Guilty Gear and BB it's simply too slow for me.SF4. It's funny how people just hate on things due to its popularity. GTA4 does not suck. Neither does Halo 3. And SF4 was a good game.tok1879
This.
People supposedly hate how simple games are now, yet BlazBlue is praised when it's the epitome of simplicity.

this. Put over 300 hours into street fighter 4 and still counting.SFIV without a doubt for me wins easily, 300+ hours and still counting. I never get bored playing it, ever. BB is nice, but it just didn't hold my attention for too long. Personally I prefer the pacing in SFIV a lot more, it is not too slow (like Tekken) or too fast (like BB), it just suits my style perfectly. I think even people who don't like the game much should appreciate what it did to the fighting games community at least.
Both are great, but ill give BB the edge cause of the style, characters and how the online is handled. I will say though SF4 is my favorite in the SF series.
I think people jump the BB bandwagon way too fast... Its annoying actually. It was a fantastic game but I thought the game suffered from some big flaws that any veteran or hardcore fighting gamer could pick up.
SF4 on the other hand, is polished to near perfection. Although SFlll was my personal favorite, SF 4 took a few steps back but huge leaps forward. The game really has very minor flaws, and quality like only comes from a fighting game with a lot of experience behind its belt.
By default, SF 4 wins imo.

Blazblue. Simple. What? As a fighter SF IV is probably better considering BB's bad balancing, but SF IV was nowhere near as fun as BB was for me, so I'm gonna go with BB.I think people jump the BB bandwagon way too fast... And I am very curious to know why so many people here state that SF 4 was this "step back" Either way, BB is a great game and a very impressive entry. But being a veteran player of fighting games, I see a lot past that game and seen more innovation in SF4 than I did in BB.

Can you tell us the flaws. Also some people just like it more is that an issue.

Sure I can but I don't understand you're second statement.I thought the Big flaws were...
1) Very unbalanced
2)Appeales to a very limited audience
Their are a few cosmetic things I didn't like as well (but I didn't want to sound like I was nitpicking) but those two were the big ones.
I haven't blayed BlazBlue, but I do have to say that I don't like the overly "anime" style that it has. The characters look like stock anime characters while many of the Street Fighter characters are simply iconic (Ryu, Blanka, Chun Li, etc). I also think that Street Fighter's art style is more unique.Alot of people think BlazBlue has a more unique art style, but I don't see how it looks any different than all the generic anime that's out there. BlazBlue is just more busy looking than Street Fighter, not really more unique.
I won't vote, however, as I haven't played both and I might give BlazBlue a rent. I'm not going to buy it as my next fighting game purchase will be Tekken 6.

My second statement was that some people jsut like BB more then SF4 and I dont see the issue with that.
SF4 on the other hand, is polished to near perfection.mexicangordowow... this is an insane statement. If inaccurate Inputs ~shortcuts~ (like df,df+p = dp) or easy comebacks (uppercut->ultra) are "near perfection" than there is something srsly wrong.. You can do reversals even if you can't time anything.. Polished? Look at screwed Characters like Vega or Ken in comparison to well-rounded Ryu or Balrog. Overall, Street Fighter IV is a nice game, but very far from perfect. It's a more dumbed down version of Street Fighter.
