Firaxis Announcing New Game (Civ 6) This Sunday

Firaxis will announce a new major title at PAX on Sunday. Considering that XCOM Enemy Within just came out last year (and considering their wording which makes it clear that this is a new major title, instead of being an expansion), it's very clear what this will be... brace yourselves for Civilization VI!!!

That would be Day 0 for me.

Hopefully the next xcom will not be designed for young people who have never played a strategy game before.

If it is CIV 6 then I'll be pre-ordering the minute they are available, Civ 5 was just epic, never bothered with the expansions but it must have sucked up about 300-400 hours of my life and I still find myself going back now and then.

Dude, you should have gotten the expansions. Gods and Kings, and especially Brave New World, add so much insane depth to the game, that it's unbelievable.

He's an idiot, he doesn't get Civilization. Apparently finds it boring.

Civilization games are like video game crack ,Civ 5 whit it expansion was epic.

He also doesn't like Titanfall. I'm guessing his low end lappy just can't run these games.

Maybe if he had a better system, this wouldn't be an issue. Like a Wii U or two.

Awesome, i feel like i'm getting near to the end of Civ 5, i've won as pretty much every civ, found a different strat for the each win type and worked my way up to immortal. I just hope it'll run on my laptop as it's my favourite for when i'm travelling :S

I kidna hope it's not Civ VI. And be something like a successor to Alpha Centauri or something. Another Pirates would be cool.

It can't be an Alpha Centauri 2, sadly, EA owns the rights to that. Do Take 2 have the rights to Pirates?

Civ 6 makes the most sense. Civ games are always 4 or 5 years apart in release and Civ V came out in 2010.

I still don't see why this completely invalidates an XCOM 2 announcement?

I'm excited, anything from Fireaxis is awesome in my book. @charizard1605 I'm down for a civ V match as well, i'm a bit of a noob though :P. I fell in love with the series after I played Civ: Revolution on Xbox360 many years ago.

Brave New World particularly added a ton of depth. I've easily put more hours into Civ IV than any other game I've ever played.

That's exactly what my wife calls it. If I'm playing a game on my PC, she'll ask me if I'm playing Crack.

I dont have a gaming PC and I'm not a fan of PC gaming but if there's a game on there that I would lose sleep playing, It's Civ

This, Ive wasted days without even thinking about it. Besides I have Civ V on Steam, maybe its time to finally move on from IV.

yes you should get the expansions. Honestly it made it alooooot better game ( i'm close to 1000hours of Civ V gameplay )

And please let it be Civ 6. That and WItcher are probably the only games i bother preordering

Civ V was easily the best one since Civ 2.

Nah, not at launch. At launch, it was a mess and a step down from the glory that was Civ 4: BtS. The expansions fixed it though, and made it great.

@charizard1605: We will have to disagree on that. I've played every single one of them and it goes 2=5>1=4>3 in terms of my personal experience and taking into account technology. I hasten to add it's pretty hard to remove the expansions from the argument at this stage.

I thought the change to a hex grid and all the changes connect to it was brilliant.
