Firmware 2.4 to be released before MGS4?

I just got done reading the awesome review by IGN UK for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots but I noticed something very interesting under the "sound" category for the rankings...

"10 Sound: The surround sound effects are stunning, having actual in-game effects, from using birdsong to detect enemies to choosing your own tunes."

Choose your own Tunes? That sounds like something we would see with firmware 2.4. What do you guys think?

Nope. That has nothing to do with custom soundtracks. Snake gets a ipod and can find different songs in the game to save and listen to.

that would be so amazing! when i complete the game, im gonna do it again with only the MGS1 soundtrack! :D

You can play music from your PS3 HDD through the in-game Ipod that Snake has. This doesn't mean in game XMB, which would allow you to play music OVER the game sounds.

Would be good if it were to be released before June 12thJetSetWilly2008

June 10th is my guess.
