its been so long it will never live up to the hype.

Whether or not it lives up the hype set by fans or critics, I will play and love the **** out of this game. :|

I think the new Half life game is going to be released on a new version of the Source engine.

It has a 3 on it, Valve can't count that high! It's obviously fake.

That was the case with Half Life 2 and Team Fortress 2. Both games have been met with enourmous critical acclaim.

Half-life 2 took 6 year to make and far exceeded the hype it got so I think it's fair to say we can trust Valve in delivering a quality product.

About half life 3: I hope it's nothing like Half Life 2. I hope this time around, guns are fun to shoot. I hope they have recoil. I hope they SOUND like guns. I hope they leave a noticable impact on both the enemies and the enviornment. Basically, have the gunplay of FEAR 1. I hope the game has GOOD AI this time. You know AI that will flank you instead of running straight after you every damn time. Also, look at FEAR 1.

Make the levels a bit bigger and more open. This gives the illusion that the game is less linear than it is. It works well.Look at Halo, look at the original Far Cry.

Do these things for the sequel and it will be a damn good shooter.

I always thought Duke Nukem was overrated, like a Doom parody, so I don't think it was ever a given DNF wouldn't flop horribly.

With Half-Life, its different. The series has never been less then amazing outside of expansion packs, and valve isn't just messing around with Half-Life in between installments. They're busy doing other games like DOTA 2, DLC for TF2 and Left 4 Dead 2, and running Steam. They have more on their plate then between Half-Life and Half-Life 2, so I think 6 years from Episode 2 to the third one might be optimistic, but it doesn't mean they game will flop. Plus HL3 was never formally announced like DNF was 10 years before it actually came out, for all we know Valve is just in the planning stages or not even working on it at all, waiting for Source 2 to be done for their next masterpiece.

On the one hand, I think Valve is close to revealing their next big project. On the other, I think this is most likely a joke. There's no reason for such shirts to exist other than to fuel internet freakouts.

That shirt may have just been some Half Life geek trying to make a shirt of a game he is way too eager to have come out. I am one of those people lol. But whether or not that shirt is official doesn't matter, Half-Life 3 is an inevitability. The Orange Box did good, Half Life 2 and it's episodic chapters did good, and the original did incredible, so I have no doubt that we will eventually see Half Life 3 within the next 3-years. I'm sure Valve is doing everything they can to make the final installment nothing short of a masterpiece.
