Might be fake

Hopefully it's not because that doesn't look good.Heil68It looks ok but it looks like a painting with a reticle of it. Also Link doesn't have a Sword but he has a Spear or something similar behind his back in that picture.

He does have a Sword SHEATH.
Looks like a painting, but look at the plants, they look rather wii-like around the edges. Where did you find this?sam_nintendoRather Wii like as in jaggy? That's because it's save as a heavily compress JPEG. Looks to me like what I said before, someone took some fan art and stuck a pointer icon on it.
I'm ruling it as Fake because when Nintendo is Teasing for a Game They NEVER just Randomly show the Cursor unless it's needed.

I noticed that but behind his sword sheath they have a Spear in that image.I am certain that this is a fake. Why do I know this?
Take a good look at where the sword sheath is pointing. The way it is placed is perfect if you draw your sword with the left hand. But as we all know, Nintendo has made Link right-handed to make it easier for the majority of the population to control the sword with the Wiimote (judging by Twilight Princess and the concept art for LoZ Wii).
Of course, there is a slim chance that Nintendo is including left and right-handed settings, but I doubt they will do that.
It is definitely fake.
(The above image is in no way affiliated with the rumors contained in this news article. It was a mock up of potential item concept created in-staff at Zelda Informer)
More "interesting" rumours from 2ch.
Some are pretty good educated guesses, some seem made up. For example, the crossbow, finished game, demo at E3, character interaction, side quests, structure, combat, less items and flight have all been hinted at by Nintendo staff before. Take them with a massive hand full of salt, though.
More "interesting" rumours from 2ch.
- Link will be replacing the bow and arrow with a crossbow.
- Game is all but finished. Putting on final touches.
- There will be a playable demo at E3.
- Time travel does occur and it happens through the use of a new blade. (not the master sword)
- Link's hometown is much bigger than in previous titles.
- There will be several "Majora's Mask" esque sidequests.
- Character interaction will be more involving than in any previous title.
- The dungeon field dungeon method is changed, and one of the changes confirms a straight dungeon to dungeon portion of the game.
- The current name of the girl in the picture is Adelle.
- Combat is extremely fluent and innovative. No previous Wii title can give you a good example of it's unique style.
- The game relies heavily on sword combat versus other items.
- There will be less items, but they will be used more frequently.
- There will be another main weapon added for an alternative combat style.
- The game will feature significant portions of flight.

I like the sound of most of that, except the flight part.

Oh, I dont know, verticle level structure with a device unique enough to make flying interesting... like, say, a balloon? It could work. There was a hot air balloon in Spirit Tracks. Stranger things have happened in Zelda. Why does it not make sense? That sheath is setup so he would draw and hold the sword with his left. :?[QUOTE="Ramen1020"]

No it's not. The top of the sheath is were he would put in the sword, and if he wants to draw it, he reaches his right hand over his left shoulder and pulls it out. It fits i think.
I don't like the idea of a crossbow though

No I think he would definitely use his left hand. The sheath is always positioned in Zelda games so that it would be easy for Link to grap with his dominate hand and it would be easier to grab the sword with his left hand how the sheath is positioned on his back. Why does it not make sense? That sheath is setup so he would draw and hold the sword with his left. :?[QUOTE="Sky-"]

That is completely false. Look at how Link draws his sword in ANY 3D Zelda game and where his sheath is placed. You will notice that the top of the sheath is placed on the same side as the hand that draws and holds the sword. No it's not. I know but it doesn't feel Zelda-ish enough to me. The rest of the rumoured info sounds great though, especially about great swordplay and majoras mask esque interaction and sidequests.

If something is "all but finished" it means that it is really close to being finished. Hence the "all".Please Log In to post.
