If I had to guess the next game to have a chance at AAAA, it would be Mass Effect. I think the multiplat COD4 has a damn good shot.remaGloohcSdlO

I doubt anything in the near future will get a 10. If anything i would guess Starcraft 2 or Resident Evil 5, if both manage to keep their core gameplay and manage to put mmore on top of that. But even those are doubtful.

But if a game were to achieve a 10 for that time/standard, then it would set the highest standard for the time/standard. And that certainly wouldn't be fair if a game became better than that game with a 10 came out. Would everything scale down then, despite it being in the same time and/or standard?

A 10/10 should not be achieved. The only time a 10/10 should be achieved is if a game could not have been fine-tuned, bug splattered, or improved anymore than what it could have been. Even OoT had it's share of bug's. And as far as I am concerned, that makes it not perfect. Perfection means nothing more can be done to it to make it better, and things can 99.99999...% be added into a game to make it better.

If they didn't give World in Conflict a 10 no game is getting a 10 this generation. That game was PERFECT in every aspect. Even gs couldn't find any crtisism for it and they usually try to come up with some critism even if it's minor like Halo 3. I highly doubt that there will be a game that will essentially master its genre this generation. WiC is the closest game to perfect since OOT.

Now that I'm done raving about WiC though, ME does stand about as good of a chance as WiC on getting a 10. Uncharted on the other hand would be lucky to get AAA and even the cows know this.

Gamespot usually gives games a higher score based on how well all the elements of a game (graphics, gameplay, story, presentation, etc.) come together to make a game that is above all fun. THPS3, LoZ:OoT, Soul Cal, and Chrono Cross were all, above anything, incredibly fun and addictive to play.

That said, based on GS's own hype, the most likely game to get a 10/10 is Rock Band, which I'm also picking right now for GoTY.

I wouldnt go that far, maybe games like MGS4 or God Of War 3 has a better shot but not Uncharted. AAA for uncharted is more than enough & if it gets AA then its good enough.

as much as this is my most anticipated game and i want it so bad it wont get 10/10 for a two reasons...

1. no game will get 10/10 i just doubt game-spot will ever give it

2. if they were ever going to give a game 10/10 it wouldn't be the ps3 no matter how good the game is, its game-spot.

GS will have to hand out 10s now because they got rid of the single .1 system. You can't tell me that the games that have goten 9.5 already this gen are the pinnacle of gaming. The really outstanding games will have to be awarded 10s now. No more getting away with giving game 9.7s and 9.8s.

My choice is MGS4. Graphics, music, sound, single player should be outstanding, strong/familar characters, a story that will be resolved, 70+ weapons, a ton of new gameplay elements, and supposedly amazing controls. Only major question mark is the multiplayer. If MGS4 does that well...look out.

no, but you get my point, right? They've worked themselves into a corner with this new system. At least 1 game within the next year almost has to get a 10.
