Sorry if this is old, but here is MAG in non-CGI. Looks pretty good but it's a very low-rez picture

Well console games are usually pretty low res so that's a given.

haha true
As of now, I KIND of want this game. alwayspurebloodI'm hoping for a title change. I don't want to buy a game called "Massive Action Game." Sounds like the name of a movie that looks really awesome in the previews, but turns out to have really cheesy effects and writing.
right... MAG is a rediculous (sp?) concept. Why on earth would you want 256 players on the same map? That's *whips out calculator* 128 people on both teams. Did they conquer LAG? And would your death really mean anything to your other 127 teammates? Your just another soldier. Around 24 should be the max online. Anything else is just about pushing it. And good luck getting a room of 256 people.MuffinPunk
more players = more realistic.
In a war does death of 1 soldier really mean anything?

Joint Ops had 150 people per server and when full it was a lot of fun. Of course the maps were 50 sq KM each.

exactly my point. I want to play a game not real life. I mean MAG is an ambitous (sp?) game, and if they can make it so you won't die every other second then I might buy it. But if you don't see why its a bit insane then... I have Warhawk and that's just 32 payers max and someone is always being killed. 128 vs 128 will be crazy, and not exactly fun.

maybe its in spectater mode? One thing Planetside taught me was that the massive lag fest battles are only fun until the "awe" of fighting with a huge army wore off. It's not long before you start branching off from the major battles in order to find smaller skirmishes where you will actually make some sort of impact.
What does this mean for a game like MAG? If this game turns out to be focused primarily on short, 30 minute, zerg fests on a random map, people will loose interest quick.
