The story from episode 2 felt alot more motivating and interesting than previous halflife 2 incarnations, hopefully they keep raising there game with episode 3.
I've never really been that impressed by Half Life's gameplay, but if this ever comes to consoles i'll probably get it. If not i'll just read the plot off of Wikipedia.

Get your hands on the Orange Box, then. It covers the entire Half-Life 2 plotline up to the end of Episode 2 and throws in two other games to boot (Portal and Team Fortress 2). It's hard to not find something enjoyable in this multigame package. And it's avaialable for PC, 360, and PS3. Take your pick.
As for Episode 3...guess my only question is whether or not we'll be booking any transdimensional flights anytime soon.

Episode 3 is the final episodic halflife 2 game, it is essential halflife 3 as they have said, it's been done to stop people waiting 5 years, but there delivery time's of the content has been slow in itself. Presumibly, after episode 3, they will work on a full scale game.

Depends if they rap up the story or not in Episode 3. Although I'm personally a fan of the episodic treatment they are giving the series. Especially with Half-Life 2's cliffhanger ending.. I did not want to wait like 10 years to find out what happens.
Although even if they do rap up the story, chances are they will end up making another one.
Is it crazy of me to want Valve to put all their efforts into Half Life 3, and NOT Half Life 2: Episode 3? I don't care anymore about Half-Life 2 and its expansions. It has been 4 years since Half Life 2. It is time to get the ball rolling on Half Life 3. Of course knowing Valve, Half Life 3 won't release until 2010 at the earliest.

Why? As it has been said earlier the Half Life 2 episodes are essentially Half Life 3. They just did that so people wouldn't have to wait such a long time to figure out what happens.
