Sucks that PS5/XSX owners have to wait until next year for the patch. Still, it's not like performance is gonna be great on PC. Unless Denuvo being removed, and driver/patch updates rectify everything, it could be a rough ride.

That being said, my 3080 is waiting.

well, it would help if they were all the same time of day, but the difference is pretty clear still. Honestly, i can't imagine how bad this must run on the last gen consoles...

Isn't the PS5 version just PS4 but with higher frame rates?

@Juub1990: That's my understanding. At least until the next gen upgrade that releases next year.

It's the PC version all day right now. I don't even want to know what the last gen versions are like.

I can't think of a PC game in which I couldn't turn off that crap, if not in the settings then in an ini or something.

Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

Not one to get hyped for much these days, but I do like my first-person action-RPG's.

This should be option in every console game. Its as bad as motion blur and we do have a motion blur slider on console these days.

An update is not going to make it into let's say a version made from the ground up on next gen. Should of scrapped current gen.

My RTX 2080 is shaking in my PC case waiting for this game. I've tried to reassure it that all will be well and that it doesn't have to try to run with ray tracing on maxed if it doesn't want to 😉. Not that I'll try that anyway lol.

The lure of 150 million potential customers probably stopped them from cancelling it for last gen consoles.

Preety impressive i would say, considering we are basically comparing the PS4 Pro version to PC's. I wonder what will the improvements for 9th gen consoles add nexr year.

I think we are all waiting for DF PS5 vs XSX & PS4 vs Xbox One. Isn't that right @Zero_epyon?

haha yeah. I don't expect much since it's going to be the pro and One X versions running on the PS5 and Series X. It's probably going to go to the X unless they have unlocked res and frameworks built in.

@xantufrog: pretty sure they are the same time of day, it's just that with ray-tracing on it makes the lighting look completely different on PC. These shots are also running without rt reflections which also makes huge changes.

Don't you guys understand how games are made? Especially since CDPR loves to base their games on PC, they have scaling settings for each effect. The 'next gen' patches for PS5 and XsX are going to have those settings turned up and then they'll spend time testing it to make sure its problem free, and optimize in places it's not. This includes resolution and FPS increases. They don't just make a new game from the ground up for every set of hardware.

Wait what? I thought Denuvo was only in the review copies, not in the general release. Wouldn't make sense given CDPR's long stance against DRM.

But yeah I'm curious to hear about the performance differences after the patches.

Yeah, they've removed it from the actual release. I was saying that if removing Denuvo and updating drivers/patches doesn't fix a slew of issues, it could be a rough ride.

It got it:

"It turns out that Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 does not have the "quality mode" that is available on Xbox Series X. That is to say, the game on PS5 runs in "performance mode" by default. On Xbox Series X you can switch between the two. Quality mode shoots for a high resolution, something approaching 4K and 30 frames per second, whereas performance mode aims for a smooth experience."
