First review of Halo 2 on PC

PC Gamer UK gave it...66% , :lol: PC can't even handle a three year old Xbox game without struggling. Two people in this topic verify that the score is correct.

hey, I got Double Agent and that scored the same in the US PC Gamer, might give this a chance. However, I do remember reading another review which gave it a 90, so...

PC can't even handle an Xbox game.  Which goes to show you that Halo really is the kind of MP and SP FPSs.

 Thats not true im afraid.
The example you quoted (PC Gamer)  gave HL2 96% which is the highest score to date they have given any game.

The real reason that it got 66% was that it was a cheap ass cash-in by M$. Basically a poor attempt to convince people to switch to their god awful Live anywhere scheme.

As for the TC, what have you been smoking? This game is most likely completly unoptimised. Have a quick browse through some recent PC games to see how much they trounce halo 2.

I'm talking about the obsession over halo portrayed o nthe forums, using it against every upcoming FPS, oh, and your forgetting platform standards, xbox 1 had very little standards, look how many craptastic or would seem craptastic games got AAA on Xbox, dont get me wrong PS2 had its share of overated games, Halo isnt one of them, but its not gods gift to FPS either, its NOT the BAR to which other FPS should set themselves to, and obsessing over the game just shows arrogance to new ideas, just like World of Warcraft does for the MMORPG genre.

You clearly said that Halo was 'average', and pretty much everyone in the professional gaming world disagrees with you. Standards or not, halo was good enough to garner a horde of fans, and single-handedly saved an ailing console. I can promise you that 'average' games cannot do that.

The game got a low score because its 3 years old, PC gamers have much higher standards than some crap port of a 3 year old game. 

Turning the meaning of that score around to imply that PCs can't handle a 3 year old Xbox game is Damage Control in its purest form.

It's true though.  The review was bias.  Any real FPS fan knows that Halo 2 is the best FPS to come out.
