Okay, there's no "I like both" option since you still prefer one over another by a little margin. If you think that you like both of them equally imagine that some higher power made you choose one of them and lose a chance to play another forever :roll:Write your opinion in the topic please. :)

There's no "I hate both" since you can easily not to vote at all. ;)

I've been mainly playing TPS lately. I've gotten extremely bored of FPS over and over again

TPS. I like being able to see my character.

Although I do like FPS's because it feels more realistic.

First person. I feel TPS's cheat you know. There you are, beind cover there are enemies appraoching. Your character is completely behind a wall but your camera allows you to look clear around corners. It bugs me sometimes, especially Multiplayer games.

3rd Person is more for me. I like to see the character I'm playing as rather than just his gun and arms.

I like the Gears of War series as well as the Uncharted series.

Yeah I'll go withThird-Person Shooters.

But that doesn't mean I don't like First Person Shooters either.

Like someone said above, FPS on computer and TPS on consoles.

But, I voted for TPS because I've been playing more of those as of late.

3rd. A lot of the time first person feels like a floating arm, however it's better for multiplayer because you have a fixed camera view whereas you have a much better view in 3rd person. I just prefer to see my character model and whatnot.

1st when playing as males and 3rd playing as females.

But really, I have more fun with 3rd person shooters, FPSs do have the immersion factor though, but I want to see my (custom made) character as well.

I prefer third person shooters. The whole point of FPS is to supposedly make you feel like you are in the game, but I don't feel that at all. I feel much more immersion from third person because I feel I am controlling a real person with a body, and not just some gun that seems to magically be floating in the air attached to nothing (except maybe a coulpe hands). It just doesn't seem to feel realistic to me at all and actually takes me out of the game.

For online, FPS. Otherwise I like TSP. They seem to focus more on other aspects than shooting.

First Person Shooters. If only because I think the multiplayer in the genre has consistantly provided me stronger quality. More multiplayer that is skill based to boot. Uncharted 2/Gears of War1/2 feel so um well i hate saying it, but they're freakin easy. Plus I think the legacy and quality of the genre in SP more than shames third person shooters(with all due respect to Max Payne). Halo CE, System Shock 2, Deus Ex, Half Life 2, Half Life, Bioshock, Crysis, Stalker shadow of chernobyl, Painkiller, etc.

GTA 4 isn't necessarily a shooter though(it's more sandbox) and MGS 4 is more action stealth than a shooter. Plus it goes without saying that the actual shooting mechanics in both games weren't all that tight anyway.

Third Person for taking cover and being able to do more things like that. And seeing the character.

PC =FPS

Console =TPS

It depends. There seems to be more high quality first person shooters out there but when a developer does a TPS right (like Gears and Uncharted) it can be really good. It depends on the game as well. I couldn't imagine Uncharted 2 (I know it's not a true shooter) as an FPS and I could see COD4 as a TPS.

some TPS make me feel like I'm playing a sidescroller/top-down type of game...or something.

it's always nice when a game supports both modes *cough* unlike consoles, PC actually does this most of the time.

FPS anyhow.

^I'm willing to agree with this. Although even when I'm playing a shooter game on a PC I'd still prefer it to be a third-person shooter

If it is actually a shooter it plays much better in first person if it is an action game 3rd person is better. 3rd person just wastes screen space.

Both games can be classified as third person shooters.

GTA is definitely a sandbox game, but it's also a 3rd person shooter.

Depending on your perspective, MGS4 is either a stealth game with 3rd-person shooter elements or a 3rd person shooter with Stealth elements. The bottomline is it's still a 3rd person shooter and it's still a stealth game.

I play more FPS then TPS, but the TPS's I play I generally like more. Some of my favorite games of all time include Stranglehold, Hitman, Gears, and Tom Clancy games.

Third-person shooters for me, being able to see the surrounding around you provide a more satisfying gaming experience for me compare to just what you can see from your prospective.

FPS is miles better. This gen doesn't have enough good TPS's. Uncharted 2, Gears 1 and RDR are the only i can think off.
