May I remind you that System Wars is a Gamespot sub-forum, therefore we must go by Gamespot's system of ratings. Nobody is forcing you to circumnavigate logic. This ridiculous immaturity ends here.

I propose that trolling AA games be moderated.

Well, the way I understand Fanboy logic around here, a game doesn't flop unless it gets 2 As lower than hyped. But then again, Fanboy logic is very inconsistent and often hypocritical so its very well likely that the rule at the time was getting one A less than hyped was considered flopping. I don't know because I wasn't here at the time and I'm glad I wasn't. These forums must have been on fire.  

Well, next to Gears of War the best damn next-gen game available is Lost Planet, and it only got what...8.1? I'd consider that game a killer-ap for the 360 any day of the week, AAA even. Why? Cause there isn't a thing released on either Wii or (and especially) PS3 thus far.

Partly, I agree. An AA game is very good in most areas, and taking out the hype leaves an enriching experience. In that context, the game might not be considered a flop. However, System Wars is System Wars, and an AA game hyped AAA is considered a flop.

Flop =/= bad.

A game can flop and still be great...

You still see fanboys running around and saying that Twilight Princess and SPM flopped and the sheep were owned correct?
Those very same fanboys are also claiming that Twilight Princess and Super Paper Mario were the only games worth owning on the Wii at the moment. So it doesn't mean they're bad.

I'm not saying I agree with it... but that's how the majority of people here will treat the games and that's what it means when they call it a "flop"

Flops or not, people really blow out of proportion what's good and bad.

If you're saying a 7.9 game sucks, you have issues. I guess being a PC gamer I am used to games in the 6 and 7 range, adjusted for standards, that's an 8 in the console world.

second, systemwars does reflect gamespots review system, it just places its own meanings and standards on the reviews.

GS has always been the only source of review scores here in SW. In the past MANY people wanted Gamerankings to be the only source and made polls about why Gamerankings should be the official source, but that failed based on the majority voting for GS scores, so GS scores are what we go by here. Been that way since this forum started in 2002 anyway, so it was never really "decided". The only thing that really "changed" was that a FLOP started out as a game scoring under 8.0 not based on hype or anything, I agree with the new system which is based on hype and score. Fanboy names were never "changed" since the only names we used were Sony Fanboy, Xbot, and well...Sheep, but that was the first name given to the Nintendo fanboys and it's what started the whole farm animal names thing.

This is not the first time I've seen a forum member create a thread asking for a rules change. There have been many, and many have failed. The days of the OFJC (Ofiicial Flop Judiciary Committee) are long gone, and this forum isn't like the way it used to be so I don't see it ever coming back.
