[QUOTE="JPOBS"]1) the link does not prove that SS2 is not a flop.2) systmwars has its own set of sub-rules. Dude stop acting like you're new here.
foxhound_fox
actually when System Shock 2 came out there was no System Wars forum, SW began in 2002. There was a general video games forum that was crammed full of off topic and video game related things, but System Wars itself wasn't started until 2002.
[QUOTE="PhoebusFlows"]Sheep actually hyped Super Paper Mario :lol:coreygamesWhy wouldn't we?
It's a great game, and 8.8 is a very good score.

It also flopped because this stupid forum doesn't understand Gamespot's rating system.
Was Deus Ex on that list because it got like a 8.2 here.smokeydabear076
Exactly, Deus Ex was an incredible game. Anybody who mentions the word flop around that game should rightfully be beaten down by the gaming veterans.
We need a new system. One that does not contrast with Gamespot's review guidelines.
Deus Ex
Gamespot acknowledges how great Deus Ex was. Why can't System Wars?
[QUOTE="Ganon_919"]It's a flop. Deal with it, this is old newsLilac_Benjie
This is GAMESPOT!!!
We go by Gamespot's rating system here. Great game =/= flop.
You're weird man. Don't try to change things. It's how it has always been. Deal with it.
Flop doesn't exactly mean bad game. Only fanboys think that. I don't understand the tripping.
ill try to make it seem like AA is pretty darned good :) :) :)3picuri3
A is good. AA is great.
See? People don't understand.
in system wars even 8.9 is a flop.
wklzip
The game has to have been hyped for there to be a flop. And there is official hype for a lot of games where the predictions meet the score. Not a flop.

yes, i know, but i didnt mentioned that :p
Please read the following from the SW Informational Thread
Flop- A game that has not lived up to System Wars expectations, such as when a game is hyped AAA and gets below AAA status, or when a game is hyped to a certain score and fails to achieve it. DOES NOT determine the worth of the game. System Wars Informational Thread
That's really the point- even though Zelda (for example) was a 'Great' game, it was hyped as 'Superb.' So it flopped because it failed to live to expectations, not because it's a bad game...although sometimes games flop in that way in addition to not living up to the hype.

Can we end this now?

Errr I got to the second page and got fed up and didn't bother reading the rest of the posts and just hit reply! You beat me to it, oh well.
- Resistance: Fall of Man - 8.6.
- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - 8.8.
- Super Paper Mario - 8.8.
Here is an incomplete list of Gamespot's Greatest Games of All Time games that have scored even lower.
- Heroes of Might & Magic II
- Fallout
- System Shock 2
This is the first evidence that AA games are significantly great on Gamespot.
[quote="Gamespot"]This range refers to great games that are excellent in almost every way and whose few setbacks probably aren't too important. We highly recommend games in the upper half of this range, since they tend to be good enough to provide an enjoyable experience to fans of the particular genre and to new players alike.Lilac_Benjie
This is the second evidence that Gamespot only gives a score ranging between 8.0 and 8.9 to great games.
This is the third evidence that only great games recieve a score ranging between 8.0 and 8.9on Gamespot.
May I remind you that System Wars is a Gamespot sub-forum, therefore we must go by Gamespot's system of ratings. Nobody is forcing you to circumnavigate logic. This ridiculous immaturity ends here.
I propose that trolling AA games be moderated.
Great(grāt)adj., great·er, great·est.

That's nice. When a game is hyped AAA and scores AA, ownage ensues. It is just how system wars works. It is not debateable whether AA titles are great. They are. Here is how it works in system wars though...
AAA hype....AA actual score = owned!
AA hype...A actual score = owned!
A hype...less than A actual score = owned!
And vice versa. Someone can hype a game to score 5.5, and it gets AA, that person is owned.
The logic is flawed in the official definition of a Flop in SW. A game can be great and still be considered a flop such as Zelda. A flopped game is still better than anything the PS3 has (cept for a port of Oblivion). However it's a definition that most of SW's agrees with. So that's what SW's uses. Deal with it. JLei2k
No. A game getting a ridiculous amount of AAA hype and scoring AA means the game really did flop. It didn't live up to score predictions. The game may be seen as AAA by many people after being played, but it is the Gamespot score that matters. Yes, people will say "such and such game flopped". IN actuality, it is the HYPE OF A GAME that ends up flopping. It is a person who says..."this game will definitely score AAA", then the game scores AA, then that particular person's post flops. People claim ownage not on a game flopping usually, but on the people who overhype a game's score, and then out to be wrong. Ownage is to the person, not the game (usually, unless the game scores A LOT lower than expected...*cough* KILLZONE *cough*).
