Leaving your PS3 on all day will waste electricity, and that goes on to contribute to global warming. This means we are killing earth, while trying to find a cure for cancer. That makes no sense.
Dont critize me or anything, im just stating my opinion. Any thoughts would be nice. sulimanitachi
I mentioned this before you did Ha ha lol
Anywho it is true, unless your house or whereever is running off a winmill or is off the grid as they say.Â
Only a lemming can spin cancer research into a bad thing...Not-A-Stalker
I think it's a great thing to do but what he's saying is true factually... PS3 running all night etc.. is a lot of electricity being used and if you're gonna argue global warming is natural then, I'm not gonna debate that republican stance cause an insane amount of scientists believe otherwise and some were even bought out to say no and came forward saying so later on lol
Leaving your PS3 on all day will waste electricity, and that goes on to contribute to global warming. This means we are killing earth, while trying to find a cure for cancer. That makes no sense. So what about the places that use hydro-electric power or wind generated power? Or nuclear plants that don't contribute to the amount of CO2 in the air (which is commonly believed to be the cause of global warming)? Or have you even considered how much electricity the PS3 might even use beforehand?

Leaving your PS3 on all day will waste electricity, and that goes on to contribute to global warming. This means we are killing earth, while trying to find a cure for cancer. That makes no sense.Well, you're going to need a PS3 first. And somehow, I don't see that happening.

LOl, ''it's just that you see it blue but it's actually green'' But seriously what a lame excuse, don't worry posting all day here doesn't consume electricity.

Your worries are unfounded. The electricity used by the PS3s is miniscule in comparison to the electricity used by PCs doing the same amount of folding. So groups that dedicate machines to the folding@home project will probably start using PS3s and thereby save electricity.
I dont think enough people take global warming seriously enough.pog_ma_thoin
Enough is an understatement of the year...based on on how many people are in the world helping global warming compared to how many are against it and helping I would sa barely anyone takes it seriously.
I have been recycling more and using those new light bulbs and got rid of the fridge downstairs we don't use really and turning off lights we dont need on.
I think honestly this generation really doesn't care about a lot of things so I can't see how it's gonna get any better with the government backing it and we know that won't happen because the government supports gas companies and supports the "global warming is natural debate" well atleast this administation does. Best argument many of them have said is how it would cost us millions and billions to do this now...yeah good argument. Why loose the money now when we can be rich and our kids or greatgrandkids can die laterÂ
Leaving your PS3 on all day will waste electricity, and that goes on to contribute to global warming. This means we are killing earth, while trying to find a cure for cancer. That makes no sense.there isn't any 100% conclusive evidence that global warming exists or that it has effects on the world. using electricty with the PS3 wouldn't even contribute to global warming.

...Even though it's virtually impossible to stop Global Warming at this point? It would take decades to cleanse the Earth and that isn't going to happen. It is what I have been saying since the beginning. The PS3 uses a ton of power. At 2 hours a day for a year it will cost you 40 USD a year in electricity. Running it 24/7? Oh boy...foxhound_foxBut at least there is the option of running it 24/7. There are other consoles out there that would not fare so well in those conditions.

Yeah I know man..
I mean honestly.. do me a favor and ifyou don't believe in Global Warming watch the documentary "An Inconvieniant Truth" and tell me how it is wrong and show me where they are lying and why Al Gore and many other are lying cause I know many reason why the nah-sayers are lying about it now existing or not being cause by humans.
And one thing I remember someone saying in an argument I was in on this topic that shut the room up was this...
The ICE age has happened every thousands and thousands of years btw and this is the begining of the next one if things don't change... Anywho he said: How are we not chaning the planet, were there ever humans on earth taking up this much land in any other of the time ice ages? Was there ever this much technology and plants and cars and something called electricity? I mean the very fact that humans are on earth doing what they are doing changes the earth and changes it's wild life, to ague that is to argue any kind of common sense

Why not actually look at this arguement for what it really is... Curing Cancer and many other diseases... vs. contributing less then 0.001% to global warming. I wonder... answer me this topic creator... would you say the same thing if you had cancer?Shadow_Link50
While the PS3 use would be very very little in terms of helping GW I do think in general GW is more important that cancer, doesn't seem that way but say the 100 years from now if things don't change and you'll be wrong.
But I took this thread as a kind of joke and not a serious thing. Not sure why everyone is taking this thread so seriously. He's just point out a little oxymoron I guess in that it helps on one thing but does bad in another way even though very little wayÂ

You do realize that volcanoes pollute this planet more than humans do right?
At least try to open a book before babbling about how much you think you know about global warming.
It's a media-driven myth and nothing more to say that humans are causing this planet to get warmer.Â

Quick question, if you put a bunch of cougars in the middle of a section of donkeys does that change the region at all?
Do you think life on earth now is exactly the same as it was when we were no on this planet? You're joking dude and you know less then nothing about this topic.
Humans have taken down millions of forrests worldwide, created polution, and changing the landscape for wildlife, where so many specific are in the verge of going extinct like the Polar Bear is now thanks to GW.
How can humans not be causing this? There's never been humans around before in any of the ice ages.
Another thing a lot of people don't know is how GW is not being caused by holes in the ozone layer. It's being cause by gases making thick clouds you could say around the ozone layer which is causing more heat to stay in then bounch in from the sun and bounce back out of the earth which is how it used to be. Â

The influence a carnivore has in a pack of its prey is vastly different than the influence humanity has on this planet's climate. Next time try an analogy that works.

The polar bear isn't on the verge of extinction :|
Also I fail to see how you have combined hundreds of years of human technological advancement at the cost of this planet's environment as being 'GW's fault.Â
The planet was warmer hundreds of years ago than it is now.Â

Those same clouds were around thousands of years ago long before humankind started 'killing' the planet.
This planet pollutes itself more than humans do by literally thousands of time over.
If you take the worse polluting factories in the world and made them ten fold they still wouldn't equal the average size volcanoe.
The simple fact is that it's the epitomy of human arrogance to think that we effect this planet to any great degree. We are not killing this planet or even affecting it that much.Â
Sure our water sources are polluted, etc. but this planet will correct those changes long after we are all gone.
