I've had Gamefly for about a month now, and so far I'm very pleased. Mainly for the reason that the games I've played so far have been ones I'd never buy but I've enjoyed them all (Folklore, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon, and de Blob).

I had always wanted to try Folklore out, but the mixed reviews and price tag always kept me from making a purchase. I'm glad that I didn't buy it because more than two playthroughs and it's over. But those two times playing through were a blast, easily one of the best games this gen, and one everyone should try. Great story, simple but engaging gameplay, and a wonderfully put together world that blends real life and fantasy (think Pan's Labryinth).

I know most will disagree but I was just as impressed with the graphics in Folklore as I was with MGS4. Technically speaking MGS4 might be better, but Folklore is one of the most artistically beautiful games I've ever played.

I can say without a doubt it's the most underrated game I've played during this current gen. Fable II is the next game in the mail, and it has a lot to live up to considering the masterpiece I just played.

So, do you consider Folklore highly underrated? If not, what game this gen is the most underrated?

I played the demo and it was really cool. The animations in particular, with the monsters phasing in and out at you attacked, were excellent. And I think it's the only PS3 game that actually benefits from motion control.

I approve of this thread.

And no, Ratchet and Clank isn't underrated. It got good reviews and decent sales and no one really disputes how good it is outside of Aaron Thomas. One crap-tastic review does not make a game underrated

I've had the game for about 3 months but haven't played past the point where the guy turns into some beast and enters the netherworld. I should pick it up again, but Warhawk has prevented me from playing anything else for over a year now.

wow, 8.7 and 8.5 are overrated? I've played Kameo, Mass Effect, and Folklore...in terms of quality i'd say they're all three about equal being better in certain areas than others...yet Folklore received a 7...and when I say "underrated" I mean as a whole in the gaming community, not just GS

Mass effect was not underrated. Good game with a good story and gameplay but the graphical flaws, bugs and loading times ate some points.

If the framerate would have been locked at 30 and the loading times would have been seriously reduced it would be awesome.

They should have put it on 2 discs to minimize the loading times and prosessing spent on compression.

the scores definitely fit. I enjoyed the demo mainly due to the awesome designs in the world and graphics but the whole pulling back on the controller everytime i kill a guy would (and did) get kind of annoying. the combat also had a pretty cool concept.

Congrats on making two play throughs. One was enough for me being as how they make you play the first 5 chapters twice, once as Keats, and once as Ellen. The fact that the levels really didn't change with the exception to about 3 exclusive monsters for each character per level made the game kind of a drag to go through.

The story was really good though and I enjoyed all the different story telling elements. Great game. I would have given it an 8.0. Had it not been for the repetitiveness it would have gotten an 9.0. Everything else about the game was amazing.

I'm thinking Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Crackdown & Too Human.

Once I've completed a full play through using co-op as well, my guess is Fable 2 will be close to the top of my list as well.

Lost Odyssey would probably go second on my underrated list. It's easily the best RPG of the current gen consoles, IMO.

Until Metal Gear Solid 4 came out, this was probably one of the only PS3 games worth playing at the time beside from Resistance, at least that couldn't be found on the 360.

I loved Folklore with the amazing particle effects and ethereal graphics. It really felt like a fantasy fairy world, albeit a dark and sinister one. The gameplay was solid, sort of a mish mash of real time pokemon and Zelda. Although I could have done with more voice acting in the cutscenes, and the fact you traversed the EXACT SAME locations with both Ellen and Keats, that was a bit of a downer...

But overall a very solid game that I enjoyed, way more than the credit most gave it. Now it certainly isn't the best game, but a 7.0 was a bit low.

Honestly, I thought it was mediocre. A tad bit better than games like Enchanted Arms.

Not most underrated, but really excellent.

Beautiful graphics, the best art design of any game I've ever seen, and highly entertaining gameplay mechanics.

There were things that fouled it up however, including repetitive combat, exploration, tedius story and dialogue delivery...it could have been much better.

I really enjoyed it and yes it is disgustingly overrated.

Ron Paul rocks.

I think Crackdown is. So many people I know only got it for the Halo 3 beta, when they had a great game in their hands all along. I really enjoyed it and had a blast with the game.
