Some thoughts on the Folksoul demo. I think here in America it's called Folklore.
1. The in-game graphics are spectacular and are still going to be improved. Solid environments and character design, but it's the enemy animations that are to me the most impressive feat about Folksoul visually. Still, the story cutscenes need to get better. Character's movements are iffy at best during those and the backgrounds and environments during those comic like cutscenes are god-awful. The framerate moves pretty good, but inconsistent at times.
2. There best be voice acting in the main story parts, cause that's way to much reading for me. I may not have understood a thing (japanese writting), but regardless, there's a lot there. In important scenes, they better have voice acting.
3. Music was ok. Nothing Uematsu about it, but not bad.
4. The game looks original and plays original. The combat isn't fought by your character as much as it is the soul's of the enemies that have fallen to you. Cool concept, and the sucking up of the soul's is a work out, especially that mini-boss, shaking the controller. It's a cool concept.
This demo was good, long enough to please me, and showed a solid foundation in the works with this game. I'm hoping to add this to my PS3 list of buys this year. This plus Lost Oddyssey and Blue Dragon on 360? Freaking sweet!
