...but M$ will never fool me three times. I have been a relatively early adaptor to each xbox console so far. Both have quality games, but 2 trends I have seen with both consoles are troubling.

1 - Early support is strong, but it loses steam quicker than all consoles.

M$ completely canned internal development for Xbox in like less than 4 years. Granted they entered a little later, but literally no games came out for it while the other two continued varying levels of support. Same thing is happening w/ the 360. Support was strong and the games were great when they came out. Now it's just the same sh!t year after year while M$ focuses their attention elsewhere

2 - Almost all the exclusives eventually get ported.

Look at the xbox, very few games that ended up being exclusive because M$ has no problem porting their game to PC. That's fine (why wouldn't they), but I've come to the conclusion that it isn't worth the entry fee to get a few early exclusives when at the end of the gen I can get the optimized versions usually for cheaper.

It's just not worth it to pay the $400+ for their consoles when all the games come front-loaded and most will end up being elsewhere either way. Next gen: purchase WiiU and PS4 up front, get the nextbox used four years later for the *slim* amount of games you will need it for.

I know, that is a ridiculous reason, and while I hate my Xbox 360, I like Microsoft because they are cut throat a$$holes and smart businessmen.

Hate is a strong word, that is stupid to hate a piece of plastic, I just hate lemmings. I just don't play my 360 is all.

Not really supporting an American product when it's being assembled in China and then sold here. Same goes to Apple, SONY, and almost every other eletronics company out there. Sad really.

If only Microsoft and Apple would assemble their products here in the States, how many jobs do you think they could create? How much better the economy would be? No, thier CEOs gotta make sure they make their $80 million. God forbid they take a paycut or lose out on a bit of money to help the economy so instead of $80 milllion, it's $5. I mean really, who needs that much money? I'd even pay a premium price for a product if it was stamped "Made in America" and it meant jobs for people.

The only way to remedy the situation, is to fix China and several other Asian nation's labor laws and work environment. If that improves, then it'd be too costly for foriegn companies to create products there.

I only bought the first Xbox for Halo and did the same for the 360. Probably will do the same for the next Xbox as well. It's multiplayer is too unique a experience that I'd take it over all the Uncharted's, KIllzone's, Resistance's and other PS3 exclusives. Of course no one is making me choose one over the other, so I always end up getting both consoles regardless.

The early death of the Xbox wasn't really planned by MS.

it was and it wasnt, it was phased out extremely quickly in comparrison to even the cube, there was a total shift in focus and left a few of us late adopters in the lurch a little without any future or anything more than sports games and tie-ins coming it was pretty lame.

Least Sony had the decency to get GOW2 out on the PS2 even after the launch of PS3, and FFXII stuck to the guns in the late lifecycle, ms just kinda gave halo 2 and Fable 1 aswell as Forza1 but at the time Forza was still a fringe game and couldnt hit the spot like GT4 then after that it kinda just died off alltogether.

Even lemmings know it's true, the xbox consoles are just multiplat boxes. Even hardcore lems will be buying Sony consoles next gen cause they know it's where all the games are. We warned them after last gen, they didn't listen, now it happened again so you know it's how MS rolls.

I really dislike MS policies, but even thou i'm a playstation "fan" (this gen at least) i waited on a price drop.

I don't think consoles warrant early adoption, whatever new graphics you want they are already on the pc (and better) and if you're gunning for exclusives (like me) when you pick up your console after a price drop the good early games will be super cheap.

Not to mention hardware revisions... i bought my ps3 the year it "slimmed" and i've been regretting it (somewhat, also i have the 40gb not the 60), so the bottom line is: the longer you wait the more you will get rewarded.

Andthis is the only reason why the360 is defened like it is here.

so you're japanese then?

has nothing to do with what I said.

regardless of my racial origin, the logic used to defend and support this company for it's GAME CONSOLE is utter stupidity when that company is doing the least to support that system, games and have the worst customer appreciation of the other companies.

If MS were only about equal to Sony in trying to produce games and services that show appreciation for the fan base then I could understand the support for going with "the home team" but I can't rationalize this with how MS is trying to turn the console industry in to trash with their"you pay for everything" business tactics, lack of effort to develop games for gamersand anti-competition market strategy

If you are ok with going along with all of the things that MS does just to support "the home team" then you are more of a racist/nationalist than a gamer and there is no logical discussion that can be had with you on anything.

360 may be owned by an american company, but your generalisation that "its praised only because its american" is a joke. I am from the UK, so MS are not my "Home Team", where are you from?

I have had sega systems,, sony systems, nintendo systems, british computers...

and also "worst customer appreciation"? Charge for everything? free trials on ALL live arcade games / demos, try before you buy? how is that charging for everything? making money = bad, i forgot.

i've had nothing but positives whenever i have needed to contact MS, their twitter support actually holds a guinness world record as the fastest responding tech support on twitter so.....

If you dont agree with MS tactics fair enough, i would rather LIVE was free (who wouldn't) the day i stop finding it worth it, will be the day i stop.

It's cool that you have found reasons to support them...but even Hitler found reasons to support his idea that Jews should be eradicated from earth. (not saying the two are of equal proportion but I'm just saying..)

hmmm lololol

OMG, I am a traitor because I don't illogically support the video game company of da "home team"!11!

Let me just tell you that I did support the home team (MS) at first, but then the home team revealed that they don't want to play only the money from the seats of the fans, so I went witha team that actually plays.

To be honest tho, If sega had never left the console industry I would never have even gave MS, or Sony a thought.

#1 good, we all saw what happened to the ps3 when sony allowed devs to choose which system to make games on and they all chose ps2 and the ps3 had a crap library overall for 3 years.

killing off development for the 360 would be the best news i could possibly hear since then they are forced to dev on nextbox just like it was good news that they forced them to dev on 360.

#2 so what? it did not hurt me at all that pc guys got to play some 360 game on pc a year later. plus according to most pc guys on sw they didn't even like them anyway because they are ported console trash and not fit to be on pc.

and just as an observation, how funny is it all we have heard this gen from cows is whaaa  xbl got ads! whaaa we hate ads! you gotta pay fer ads! yet the majority of pro ps3 threads in sw are oh god oh god please buy a sony product please please oh god!!!!

ads on xbl = bad, begging for sony on system wars = good.

#1 is pretty much the deal breaker. Porting to PC isnt going to matter to folks who dont have a gaming PC anyway. Honestly, Microsoft has never had much more than Halo to distinguish itself from other systems. Without Halo, 360 likely wouldnt exist or would be stacked in a warehouse somewhere next to the Zune. Your right though, Microsoft hasnt been any good at consistently pumping out top exclusives. I dont even think they will get the bang up front this next gen. There is no more Gears of War. Mass Effect, Lost PLanet, and Bioshock boosted their library in 2007. All those titles and developers are multiplatform now. Its all back down to Halo and Forza unless Epic Games can be convinced to do another Gears of War.

The PS3 part to your #1 answer is completely incorrect. Some of the most popular games for PS3 game out within the first 2 years. Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, 2 Resistance games, 2 Motorstorm games, Little Big Planet, MGS4, Valkyria Chronicles, Ratchet and Clank, etc. They just didn't have all the media hype of Halo or Forza. Most of the top PS3 games for the first couple of years were brand new IPs that had to build their reputation.

[QUOTE="Republican11"]

Gears of War is my favorite multi-player franchise followed by Halo. So they have me by the short and curlies.

Gears of War 3 and Halo: Reach are not on PC. And IF (that's a huge if) they do get a PC port, it will be well after something new has come along to play.

360 was overall better than ps3 throughout the entire generation. Can't say I regret buying a 360 one bit. My PS3 seems to colelct dust after I bought their few good exclusives and beat them all/

...but M$ will never fool me three times.

In this case its fool me Once. While I agree with you that the exclusives seem far and few between with the current xbox 360 the same CANNOT be said for the original xbox. Here are just a few games that were exclusives for the original xbox near the end of its 2004/2005 lifecycle :

Advent Rising 2005 , American Army Rise of a soldier 2004, Amped snowboarding 2 2004, Armed and dangerous 2004, Bad day LA 2006, Bicycle Casino 2006, Blinx 2 master of time and space 2004, Carve 2004, Chicago enforcer 2004, Classified, the sentential crisis 2005, Conker Live Reloaded 2005, Crimson Sea 2003, Crimson Skies 2004, Dead or Alive ultimate 2004, Dino Crisis 3 2003, Far Cry Instincts 2004, Forza Motorsport 2005, Grabbed By the Ghoulies 2004, Greg Hastings tournament paintball 2004, Group S Challenge 2004, Gun Griffin Allied Strike 2005, Half Life 2 2005, Halo 2 2004, Kingdom under Fire Heros, Chronicles of Riddick 2004

I hope you enjoyed all your mediocre exclusives that Sony created this gen because according to this http://www.gamesthirst.com/2012/02/12/sony-we-need-to-stop-making-so-many-games/they realized why MS's business model has been killing them all gen. Exclusive were a big thing in the previous generation. But it seems this generation its not really a determining factor in terms of an overall better investment for a console. That is why they are being outsold.
