You can play any retail game with the arcade system. So yes with the Arcade a person can play Gears 1 or 2, GTA4, Mass Effect and any other retail game. Just can not download movies any stuff. The arcade even comes with a memory stick to save games.
I assume you mean buy an Arcade and then buy the PC verison of Left 4 Dead?
I'm trying to do people a favor here,do not buy the 360 version of L4D. If you;re too stubborn to look at Valves track record and see why this game will be hugely superior on PC (team fortress 2) then go ahead and buy it on 360,but you're missing out.

$200+245=$445
PS3 will give you 60 more gigs and bluray for less at $400.:)

I just want to play games and couldn't care less about online. I wouldn't need a harddrive as I don't need to download trailers, movies, or demos. Net cost to someone like me = $200 plus tax.
This model isn't meant for you and the other gamers who have to have the best. It's meant for those who just want to game.
The other gamers will be better served by the Pro and Elite.

Trying to add on stuff that is not needed just shows a sign of desperation. 360 Arcade can play any 360 retail game out of the box. I understand though since 360 is a much cheaper the the PS3 and has a better game libary. The cows need to make up stuff to make them feel better about paying so much for a console with the lesser game libary.

This^^^. I swear people don't realize that GS does not = the worldwide opinion. Many people( I know a few), just want to play the games like they did on their HDD less PS2. People need to realize not everyone wants a multimedia console, just one that plays games. MS has the right approach on this imo.

I think it's a great deal for those who still don't have a 360.
Also, anyone still who pays $90 for the 20gig hard drive isn't a smart shopper. If you actually do a bit of research before you shop, you'd know it can be found for much cheaper.
