COD4 is getting alot of love out there, but its not the best COD, the original is. The Original COD was a PC exclusive that alot of people didn't play. IMO Call of duty was the greatest COD out of all of them, and was one of the greatest FPS of all time. It had loads more action, and was an overall better experience then COD4. Almost all PC's can play this game, so you can go pick up a copy. gatorteen
..ok..............thanks??

I just posted it, because people are saying that COD4 is the new king of FPS, when its not even the best in the series.

It was just OK. MOHA clone
i agree. COD1 was a good game...but it was nothing special. i know the same guys that mad eit also made MOH:AA on PC but AA had a far bigger impact imho. CPD1 is still worth a play though.
COD4 is a better game though imho.
COD is alright. I've got it and it's expansion pack (never finished the expansion pack) it was a fun WWII shooter, that introduced a few cool new things and took some elements from the MOH series. It was awesome for it's time, but it's not exactly ground breaking in the sense that it stands the test of time, it did things that hadn't been done before, but are now common is FPS's. A great FPS? Yes, it certainly did new things to the genre. The best COD? Eh, not in my opinion but arguements could be made. The best FPS ever? Certainly not. I think it's safe to say though that MOH:AA and COD were indeed the peak of the WWII FPS's, and arguements could be made that both are the best of that genre.

medal of honour fails hard when compared to call of duty.
the only problem with call of duty is i think it has some issues with dual core proccesors
[QUOTE="Tiefster"]CoD and CoD UO are shooter's shooters. I remember when I first played the demo for CoD I was blown away by how instense the game was online and off.gatorteen
Thats what I loved about the game. It still held its intensity online.
See but at the same time that's what makes it not age well, COD was really the first game to drop that "Oh my God" factor on the player with intensity in the form or alot of in game storytelling and pre planned events that kicked it up a notch. But IW has taken that and mastered it even more of the years, COD 4 is without a doubt the most intense game I've ever played. Go back and play COD and the intensity is there, but it just doesn't feel as powerful as it once was. IW are masters of basically upping there own game, is COD not intense? No, it's just COD 4 is that more. I played COD earlier last year and I was kind of left feeling underwhelmed from what I once had known. It's a sick game, but it's not the best COD I think.[QUOTE="goddamn_"][QUOTE="gatorteen"]and was one of the greatest FPS of all time. warmaster670

Without MOH:AA there would arguably be no COD. The guys who made that game, wanted to make another WWII but keep that intensity from the Normandy level, through out the entire game. And so Infinity Ward was made and the rest is history. If you played MOH:AA at the time of it's release you would without a doubt in my mind not say it fails, I honestly believe that Normandy beach level changed FPS's forever.[QUOTE="EuroMafia"]Don't feel like it. WW2 right? meh.-Spock-
Why the hell are people so turned off by WWII? It's an awesome game, regardless of the time period.
Same weapons, same enemies, same environments......admit it, WWII has been done to death. I don't even look twice at a WWII shooter when it comes out anymore. Not to say the original COD isn't a classic, but it's one that I don;t feel the need to revisit. I find the setting of COD4 much more appealing.
The Prestige system and perks system is what makes COD4 the best one ever. This is pretty much undeniable. I've played and owned every COD, even the joke COD 3.
The fact is that Modern Warfare is still COD...its just COD on steroids so I have trouble understanding why, unless you hate the backdrop, why you wouldn't like COD4.

MadExponent
Most of the additions is what ruined it in my eyes, more isnt always better, especially some of the natrocious additions to CoD4 .. Single Player and setting was nice though.
