RTS isn't the only deep genre, for one. Second, I have played an insanley deep game... and it was on a handheld. Kngihts in the Nightmare. Probably the most complex game I've ever played. (In terms of micrmanagment, planning, strategy etc.)

Most of the people on this thread are tlaking about "pixel counting" as though a handful of pixels was really the only difference, which is ridiculous.

The question was about graphics, which can be appreciated as anything else in different ways. I think Okami looks better than almost anything else, and it was done on last-gen hardware. I don't think that the graphics are the best on PC, simply because that's not how I value graphics overall. I cherish good design over anything else.

Haven't tried MP, have we? When you need to take into consideration the Base Stats of your Pokemon, the Natures, the types of moves they learn, how their moves interact with your other Pokemons' moves, the items you use on it (stat changing items) and more?

Not all games need to be immersive. However, I understand that if a game is immersive, then it helps. However, I don't think that graphics really contribute to that. It's more about the interactions in the game itself. Which is why majora's MAsk is incredibly immersive. Technically speaking, the game is bad looking, but there's a strong art design to make up for it and the interaction with NPC's makes for an unparallelled atmosphere.

Most games on PC are significantly better looking than console games but there are some games (Crysis, Metro 2033, Mirror's Edge, Shogun 2, etc) that seem that like an entire generation ahead

Thing is, MOST of those people don't KNOW about PC gaming.

The PC doesn't have Microsoft or Sony or Nintendo spending BILLIONS of dollars trying to convince people that theya re the best thing since sliced bread (yum!).

And PC gamers don't praise games simply because of complexity. That's silly. IT's not complexity for complexity's sake. It's great gameplay and deep mechanics that we tend to appreciate.

Purely linear, corridor, action games with 100 cutscenes is not most PC gamer's cup of tea.
