miyamoto has said it is all but official. If I remember right, he said that a series like Pikmin would work really well with the wiimote so he would seriously consider makinganother sequel. The thing is that miyamoto would have almost nothing to do with the game. He was a central figure in pikmin 1, but handed the series away to some other designers who made pikmin 2. Pikmin 2 was the better game thoughMaybe the Wii's sales mean that soon we'll actually be getting Pikmin 3...

Microsoft will re-take the 1st place with the boost in sales from Halo 3, but Nintendo will go back to the top place by the end of 2007.
These are just predictions, though. Nothing is set on stone yet.

I don't think this is going to happen. Assuming Nintendo has about a 300k lead on MS right now and Nintendo selling about 600k units worldwide, MS would have to sell more than 900k in order to overtake Nintendo. Halo 3 drops on Sept 25th and that just isn't enough time to sell 1 million consoles. Nintendo should stay in the lead pretty firmly throughout this year.
