I want to know since you paid for it yourself, if you are happy with the purchase and would you think differently if someone else bought it for you? The reason I'm asking is because it seems that most of the people who complain all the time here are children who recieved these things as gifts and have no notion of what the value of money really is.

I paid for my own Xbox 360, which was only possible by means of a Best Buy door crasher for $100 off. So I basically got the Pro for the cost of the Core, and it was one of the 1st Pro sets to come with a game bundle and 1250 MS points, sweetening the deal. Didn't have any help on getting it and I enjoy the hell out of it :D
With the underlined part, I think you are on to something there, to which I would also add the behavior can be found in people who, while having bought it themselves, still live with their parents and have virtually no living expenses. Basically people who's income is all for luxury and anything they want, rather than necessity.
